Hillary and I came to New York City for CraicFest C-R-A-I-C, get your minds out of the gutters, y'all. If you are unfamiliar with this Irish word, craic C-R-A-I-C, it's like a good time. lunch today we had great craic. much gossip, conversation, drinks, food. It's lot of talk. So Irish Film We wanted to see Adam's movie. Yeah, it's just documentary. The Ballroom So he had this series on Yeah? And this was... They said that that series was 80 % of this film. So if you saw the BBC series, you've seen most of it. before then, there was a BP Fallon documentary. We did. That was amazing. Yeah. If unfamiliar with him, you're newer to the U2-verse he was like opening DJ on ZooTV Yes. And that is probably most inconsequential thing he's ever done. Yes, if you don't know, he's this Irish little impish guy who has a long history. He looks like a cartoon. He does. He has a long history of rock and roll, being rock and roll adjacent. He said that his job was to make people popular and famous. So link well, Led Zeppelin. Yeah. And Lennon. I mean, it just goes on and on and on and on. David Bowie. Did you already say Bowie? I did not say Bowie. David Bowie. We're not doing it justice. No, not at all. But still, He's gotta be 60-something, wouldn't you think? I he's more like... older, at least sixty something. He's older than U2 I think. Okay. I can look. in his, you know, his golden years, he's decided to be a and have own musical. Seventy-nine. ⁓ And he just decided to writing and singing. And a lot of it is like, spoken word, but it's respectable. Blondie, Debbie Harry damn it. Yeah, he's good at everything. Yeah, he's he's really it's Like he it sound like crap. It's it's great. Bernard Patrick, is his BP. never they said it once in the film. Bernard is We say Bernard, which I used to have this friend in Ireland and I would call him once while and his mom was always like, I always knew it was you because you called him Bernard instead of Bernard, which is so much nicer off the tongue yeah, Bernard Patrick Fallon He grew up in Germany, post-war Germany. It's crazy, crazy. But we met... So many great people, old friends. Good. That was the high, I mean, the whole weekend was great, but the definite highlight of the weekend was seeing old friends and new friends. Shout out to Jenny and Sherry and Beth, who I've not seen in a very long time. We met Yes. Bless her heart, Kathy. She brought us whiskey and cake. oh my god. Kathy is just wonderful. She is a home personal chef and she made us brownies and brought us Jameson. god, they're so good. They're like fudgey kind of, but they're so good. Yeah. And then her friends, Rae Anne and and Haley St. James. Yes. known as mini Pleasure to meet her as well. gosh, it's just so fun. to run into people. I'm trying to say this humbly, but there's so many people out there that listen to our podcast. shocks me. Literally on the street, I had like the logo on my back and she's like, I listen to your podcast. Thank for everyone who listens. Like it's amazing. Like it's a little startling. I'm not the one with a beverage. No, I have a beverage. I'm just the only one actively drinking. ⁓ Sorry, my finger got in the way of the clink. we'll just tell you everything done this weekend. flew into LaGuardia and then came to our hotel, which is a very nice little ⁓ boutique hotel. Then we went out to dinner. Where did we go for dinner? First night? What did we eat? There's really good food. don't remember the name of the place. We'll have to find that. What did we eat though? Oh, I got that gnocchi, that mushroom gnocchi, and you got, it was all stone oven, brick oven. Yeah. This mac and cheese. Oh my God. I don't know. I don't generally have like a really big. appetite at one time. I ate my entire bowl of mac and cheese. It's the best I've ever had. I had an apple bourbon drink and you had an apricot. Yes. then we had some kind of pear crumble dessert. Oh my gosh. So good. So good with salted caramel. Gelato. Gelato. was good. And then we came back to our hotel and watched. Paradise. Paradise. Did you never watch together? So we did that. And then in the morning we ordered delivery bagels. Bagels and coffee? Oh my god. Those bagels were nonsense. They were so... I've never had a bagel like that before. I I live in a world of Brueggers and Panera This was a real bagel. This was really, really amazing bagel. and watch the watch The Pitt to catch a fun TV together. We put in our coffees, we put peppermint rum chata in our coffees and yum yum that was fun. then we went to the BP Fallon movie. Yes we did, that was at one. And yeah we did that and then we saw all of our friends and then afterwards we went to some bar with our friends. Yeah we to a wine bar which was great. Old friends and new friends. And then we had dinner. was called Aura which was tapas, which was lovely. We ate a lot of bread and cheese. Burrata hence our excitement about the cheese class the film fest for Adam's film I don't know how to make it two syllables. I can do one or three. Sorry if you're Irish sorry. We're useless. We're sorry that we tried and we wrecked your accent. Yeah so that was really nice and then we went afterwards we went to a pub where. It was an after party. Yeah we had magners we hung out with people and we met people that... didn't know but had to this is interesting this this guy told us that there's a book called everyone has a Bono story everyone has a Bono which is something they say in Ireland yeah yeah anyway we exchange our we everyone gave a Bono story everyone had a Bono story yeah it's your boss please write us now and tell us what your Bono story is. Yeah. And we'll talk about it next week. We'll share it. Yeah. But everything and then it was bed. The time changed and that messed us up. I didn't even realize. You don't know that stuff anymore. Like you don't have to set your clocks back or anything. My phone just does that. But I thought we had two hours before check out and it was one. Yeah. It was not good. We made it. It was fine. Yeah. And then we've basically been trolling coffee places all day. We went to Grand Central Station, which I've never been there before. Oh my god, that place is gorgeous. Gorgeous. And to think that they almost tore that down like they did Penn Station. Right. So when you're in your beloved Madison Square Garden, realize it was once Penn Station. They sacrificed the station for one of my favorite venues ever. still yucky. It is. is. so yeah, we hung at Grand Central Station we went to a restaurant called Tart...Tartinas? like that. It had the tart in it. And we got a tart. We each soup and a tart. Yeah, and We often don't get time to just... like extra time to just yap, yeah, unless it's on a sidewalk for hours and even then it's busy, so to be rushed when there's a person and to go, it's been really nice. ⁓ I wonder how the noise cancelling is. hope it's both because... ⁓ Otherwise y'all aren't going to get an ep Yeah, but also like we've been to New York a bazillion times and of us have been to Grand Central Station before so we did you we two one we went and got good and saw Grand Central Station. Then we went to coffee place. in the Chrysler building. In the Chrysler building. Never been there before. Which was much to our sadness. Not it was like it was in the Chrysler building, but the entrance was on the outside. I really wanted to walk into the I did too. didn't. Even another time. We can say we've been there now. Yeah. I mean, like we we didn't need to be tourists because I've done that before. So it was just you know, friends hanging out and that was Yeah.
