jhughes4031: What is up ladies and gentlemen? Welcome back to a brand new episode of the Jesse Hughes show. I hope that you enjoyed last week's episode with Ken Good. That was a lot of fun. I enjoyed recording that. But we are here for a brand new episode. And of course, as always, we have the drink of choice, Cherwine. We are not sponsored yet. Hopefully one day hopefully one day we do have a sponsor for the show, but we will get into that a little bit later The first thing I want to talk about tonight is of course The scourge of black pilling on the internet now I do want to give a little bit of a disclaimer before we continue I Planned this episode several hours ago however upon listening to the latest episode of the John Doyle show I realized we are going to be overlapping in some things. So I'm going to try and keep mine as original as possible. I might end up using some of the things that he talked about as well, but I'm going to try and keep it to my own thoughts as much as possible. I will definitely encourage you to go check out the John Doyle show episode from tonight because he hits on a lot of very good points in what we are going to talk about tonight. So if you have been on Twitter, or X as they call it these days. We are live streaming on X right now. You've probably seen there have been a lot of people, specifically the last few months, the last couple of weeks in particular, who have been dooming on the Trump administration. They've been saying that Trump has betrayed us on a variety of issues. They've been saying that we're being betrayed, we're being hoodwinked, that Trump has bought and paid for. by foreign countries, specifically Israel, and that everything is over. Some specific individuals have been advocating that we vote for Democrats in the midterms to burn down the American party. And I am basically going to tell you tonight why those people are incorrect in their assessments. I'm going to try to keep this diplomatic as possible because I don't want to... There are probably people out there who listen to some of these voices on the internet, who might not be as far gone as some of these people, who maybe can be brought back to reality. I want to speak to them. So I'm going to try to be as diplomatic as possible. I know several of my friends over the last couple of weeks have not been, and I at times have not been, but we're gonna try. So we're gonna address some specific claims and some specific things that the Black Pillars are saying, first and foremost being, of course, that Trump has betrayed us on the issue of Iran, on the issue of running on no new wars. Now, I do want to be clear. I was not a fan, necessarily, of us going into this conflict to begin with. This was not something that I necessarily thought was going to be something that would turn out well. That being said, when the strikes first happened, I of course said that, know what, I'm not a fan of this, but I'm going to trust the leadership that we have in the White House because Trump specifically, but also, you know, those around him like Rubio, Hex, Fance, Trump specifically though, has a proven track record on this stuff, okay? It's not as though we are experimenting with this guy for the first time. We... Some people like to pretend apparently that 2017 to 2021 just did not exist. And Trump has always been saying since at least the eighties that we need to prevent Iran from having a nuclear weapon, that we need to prevent them from becoming a strong power in the Middle East, that we should be dealing with them more harshly. So this isn't exactly something that came as a surprise to me, given his past rhetoric on this issue. Now, that does not mean I support the war. But, once again, I don't necessarily support every action that the administration takes, but I support the administration, I support our country, and I pray for good results. I think it might have been better if we didn't do this, but now that we have done it, I pray for success. And it's looking like it's been pretty successful. If you've been on Twitter, you wouldn't know that. Because you have people on this website who are going as far to say on one hand that Israel is controlling the war and we have no agency. That's wrong and we'll get into that in a second. And you have even more people who are putting out unsubstantiated claims that there are hundreds of thousands of Americans that are dying in Iran that are being hidden from us by the administration. They put these things out there without any proof, common thread. and just completely go off the rails. It's kind of insane to see. And so when it comes to this, the biggest elephant in this room is of course Israel. And unfortunately, the past year and a half or so as this conversation has bubbled up, bubbled up, bubbled up, I've tried to avoid it because I hate talking about it. To be frank, I hate talking about And the reason I hate talking about it is because there is rational conversation on this issue, but there's also a lot of people who are slightly irrational to say the least when it comes to Israel, the Jews, this whole thing. And so here's kind of where I'm at. So I just lay out all of my cards on the table. I have always, well, not always, okay. So I started out, I grew up in a dispensationalist home. I was one of those Israel's our greatest allies kind of people. I thought Israel had more significance The modern-day nation state had a lot of significance when it came to end times prophecy I believed, you know the classic things but as I've gotten older and done more research I've kind of swayed away from those beliefs and now I have fallen into a position where I believe at least from a political standpoint that Israel is a country where There are situations where it could be and is within our best interest to work with them on certain things, just as much as there are situations where it's probably not. And you can apply that line of logic to literally any country in the world. Maybe not some, maybe not China, maybe not North Korea. But there are a lot of countries that we work with where you could apply that logic. And so when it comes to Israel, I think that we should be having conversations about what specific actions we take that are within our best interest, what specific actions we take that are not within our best interest. The early days of the AIPAC stories and the AIPAC conversation, maybe trying to reduce foreign influence on our government, maybe making APAC register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act. These are all ideas that I was in support of. And then where things began to turn for me was first off with the Twitter account track APAC, which if you haven't noticed has laid on the table several times its cards and shown that it is run by somebody who is distinctly leftist. And they will call out Democrats. I will give them credit on some things, but most of the time, if a Republican does anything, they will just come in with a random graphic of this person got this much money from the Israel lobby. so they're implying that they're a bad person and they shouldn't be taken seriously on this. Usually there's more to the story than just that But as you will learn tonight our friends on the other side of this argument typically don't like to provide context they're not very Keen on providing context with things and so you'll see these graphics pop up and then I started you know noticing people were Talking about Jewish influence a lot There are certainly some sectors of society where you look and you're like, okay There are a lot of people who happen to be Jewish that are within this sector of society I don't think that that condemns all Jews. I don't think that means all Jews are bad people I think that there are bad people across all segments of society Even some people who claim to be Christians are obviously bad people. They don't take the name of Christ seriously They don't take faith seriously. They don't take these things seriously. I mean look at someone like James Talrico down in Texas. It's very clear to see. So, you know, there's some, you know, significant influence in some areas, but where things start to take a turn is when you have people saying, the Jews actually control the White House. The Jews actually control every single member of Congress. The Jews actually control every single bad thing that's ever happened in the world. I've even seen where people are now starting to say that the Crusades actually weren't based because The Christians only went and targeted the poor Muslims who they should have had an alliance with because the Jews got in their ears and started whispering and insinuating things. And that's why we went on this crusade to take back the Holy Land. it's all just, it's also tiresome. It's pretty ridiculous, if you ask me. I think that a lot of people have gone off the reservation with a lot of this stuff. And so when it comes to Iran, of course, People are going to say that the war in Iran is a result of Israeli influence, that Trump isn't acting with agency and that we are being held captive by the Israelis, despite the fact that we've seen on several occasions, specifically with this war, but with other actions of the Trump administration as well, that he is broke with Israel and broke with Netanyahu on a number of things. I mean, just last week, Israel launched this attack against some oil fields in Iran, and Trump was like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. We were not on board with that. We did not know about that. That was not something that we approved of, and Israel, don't do that again. Now, will Israel not do that again has yet to be seen. But on that and on some other things, I mean, we all remember of a classic clip from last summer where Trump went out in the press conference talking about Israel and Iran after strikes on the nuclear facilities and Israel escalated things after Trump said don't. And he goes out there and says, we have two countries, but don't know what the fill in the blank they're doing. So obviously. there have been breaks and there have been things where there have been breaks. so where this issue ultimately lands for me is there are arguments and I'm still trying to come to conclusions on these arguments, but there are arguments that this is something that actually is within our best interest, whether it's to counter to Chinese influence, whether it's to keep Iran from becoming some hermit kingdom that's hostile to the United States like North Korea, whether it's... The fact that they have weapons that are more advanced and sophisticated than we actually first believed as seen with the fact that we intercepted a missile that traveled like, what was it, 2,000 miles to some island in the middle of the Indian Ocean that we didn't know that they could actually reach. There are legitimate worries about Iran. It's not like there was just countries sitting there peacefully doing things in their own thing, doing their own thing. We just came in and started bullying them. I Iran is the leading state sponsor of terrorism in the Middle East. They have been responsible for the deaths of a lot of American citizens and soldiers. It is not as if they are just peacefully sitting by and not doing anything to aggravate us. They certainly are. And so we launched these strikes. We completely decimate the military structure and the leadership structure of Iran and things look like they're going decently well. Now, hopefully, you know, we're, Trump has said that we're in peace talks right now. Hopefully these peace talks produce a peaceful outcome sooner rather than later. And hopefully we meet at least some of the objectives that we set out to achieve when we started this. Hopefully these things happen, but you know, I, My line in the sand is I don't want to see American boots on the ground and you've had people claiming and insinuating that like the 82nd Airborne and other ⁓ military groups are gearing up and getting ready to go to Iran and again I have not seen the evidence for this. If I am missing something, if there is evidence for this, please send it my way. I've looked for it and haven't seen it. I don't know where you're getting some of this stuff. I truly don't. And so that's the Iran issue. Another big issue where people say that Trump has betrayed us is of course, immigration. The mass deportations aren't happening, they say. Trump promised mass deportations. Trump promised all this stuff. And once again, when you actually look at the facts of the situation and look at what's going on, what's truly going on, they don't line up with reality on both illegal immigration and legal immigration because What you have is a lot of supposed right wingers on Twitter saying that these things are happening, that Trump's betraying us on this issue, and they point to something like Minnesota, where we did pull out a lot of ICE agents during an operation up there. However, look at the context. We pulled out some of our ICE resources and redirected them to other places, by the way, because we finally got the state government and the city government from Milwaukee specifically to agree for local law enforcement cooperation, which is essential to these kinds of operations. And so you have people there claiming that the deportations stopped, that they're not happening anymore. I rarely do this, but I would encourage you if you are unsure about this, go look at Blue Sky. Go look at Blue Sky. Because what you're going to see on blue sky is leftist freaking out because these deportations haven't stopped. They're actually still being carried out. They're actually still going. Go look, just go look. You'll find tons of posts about you'll find tons of information where leftists are freaking out because people are still being quote unquote kidnapped according to them. so the deportations are happening now. Are they happening at a rapid enough pace that I am satisfied with? No. However, I have confidence that that pace will increase because in case you forgot, excuse me, we had four years of Joe Biden. We had four years of an ICE department that wasn't doing its job. We had four years where Excuse me. We had four years where it got essentially neutered, where it wasn't doing the things that it was supposed to be doing. And so what you have is Trump coming in and basically having to rebuild from the ground up. That's why the big, beautiful bill was so important because now we've got tens of thousands of new ICE agents. We've got tens of thousands. We've got millions and billions of dollars in new resources. Things. are going to ramp up, I guarantee it. Now does that mean that we should be just like blind plan trusters and always think that the administration's gonna do the right thing? Not necessarily, humans are fallible, people make mistakes. We should of course give constructive, helpful feedback in situations where it is necessary. And there have been those kinds of situations. However, that doesn't mean that you go all out like these black pillars and just go, ⁓ it's everything's over. The mass deportations aren't happening. It's so over. We just got to vote Democrat or just not vote at all. They've betrayed us. Like that kind of thinking, that kind of mentality is not helpful. It's not. It's not going to get you anywhere. And there are some individuals who are, of course, peddling this because they're trying to gain influence or that they're, because they're secretly leftist and they want to gain the favor of the left or help the left in any way they can. I think we all know who I'm talking about here. But, you know, these people constantly freak out for no reason. Another issue, and John Doyle talked about this, I'd encourage you to go listen to his full thoughts on it, but we look at something like legal immigration and people say, well, Trump's ramping up legal immigration numbers, he's ramping up the great replacement, just doing it legally. When in reality we have net negative migration for the first time in my lifetime, certainly many of your lifetimes as well, we have visas being paused, being cut, left and right. ⁓ 75, I think, countries it is where Trump at the beginning of this year just paused all visas from those nations. In fact, the only real immigration we've had into the country is from... a couple thousand South African refugees. That's not exactly the great replacement or not exactly the mass influx of migrants that we've had for the last 60 years. Once again, know deportation numbers should be increasing. We should also probably be denaturalizing some people. However, with some of this stuff, you have to realize, yes, you can just do things, but at the same time, There are some places where we still have work to do in terms of shifting the Overton window on things. The Overton window has shifted very rapidly on the immigration issue, specifically in the last couple of years. However, there's still work to be done. Something like Repealing Heart Cellar, which I support, is not exactly a mainstream GOP talking point yet. In a few years it might be. If we continue to keep doing work, But that's the problem with some these people is that they say all this stuff online and then they don't actually go out and do the work. Now, I hate talking about things that I've done in the past just because I hate to sound like I'm bragging. I genuinely hate it. I, of course, come on here on Wednesday nights and talking to a microphone sitting in the middle of my bedroom for fun. I literally don't get any money from this at all. It's just me and a microphone in my my iPhone that I'm filming on in my bedroom. But I don't just do this. I am currently working with Turning Point Action's Virginia Gen Z Coalition to fight against the redistricting effort that's coming up in April. In undergrad, I was the president of our college Republicans chapter at Liberty University. I have worked in Washington DC. I have worked as an intern for several campaigns, going out and docking doors and actually talking to voters. I have done a lot of things to actually put in the work, not just sit behind a camera and talk like a lot of these people do. If you're going to complain about something but you're not going to put in any effort or any work to actually change it, what's the use? What's the point? There is no point. There is no point at all to what you were doing other than just demoralizing people, which isn't going to save our country any sooner. Now, some people are going to say that some people advance this talking point of accelerationism that we just need to accelerate to the collapse and that when we do, then a true right-wing dictator will be voting the power because the people will finally woken up and everything will be fixed and it'll be great. And that's just not based in reality. That's just not an idea that's based in reality at all. And if you want proof, South Africa, look at South Africa. You had a leftist uprising in the 90s. There were some problems down there. The left took things and moved them way farther than any of the problems were supposed to ⁓ go to fix those. You had the left completely ruin South Africa, drive it into the ground, turn it from one of the most prosperous countries in Africa, probably the most prosperous country in Africa after Rhodesia fell. And it became a terrible, terrible place almost overnight. And now here we are basically almost 40 years later. And what are the results? What are the results? Are things better in South Africa now? Have the people woken up? Have white people risen up against whatever's going on and actually said, no, we're putting a stop to this and installing a right-wing dictator? No. They have become complacent with their circumstances. They are complying with the circumstances that they are put in. They're not rising up and waking up. They're doing the opposite. And the exact same thing would happen here in the United States if we allow the left to take over and ruin our country. The exact same thing. the exact same thing. There would not be enough of us based red-pilled right-wingers to go out and actually change things because it would probably get to such a point that we would be rounded up. And if not, we at least would not be able to get support from the people because they would be so complacent and the country that we love would just fall apart and fall into hell. I don't know about you. I don't know about you, but I want to have kids one day and I want to leave them a country where they can actually live peacefully and safely. I don't want things to fall apart and to put that burden on their shoulders. I want to try to fix things now. Now I've talked about in the past, there are several things that it's going to be a multi-generational effort to fix, but there are a lot of things that we can also fix now. And we have to have discernment to know what's what and have to be able to game plan to realize what's what. And when we're able to put these timelines in place that we can fix some of these things that are going to take longer to fix. We have a point somebody commented is also that people get used to that disorder and the order feels like a foreign concept. That is true. After several generations. mean, like I said, look at South Africa after several generations, people have just gotten used to it. They've grown complacent. mean, not even after several generations, look at what happened with COVID. It only took a few months, if that, and people were just okay with the lockdowns. They were just okay. with the mandatory vaccinations. They were just okay with all of these things. I didn't see, I saw some people pushing back, but I didn't see people waking up in this popular uprising and electing a right-wing dictator. I mean, we elected Trump, we did have a swing back to the right after four years of hell, but it's not like we elected this like far-right dictator that's going to take power on day one and become crown himself king and do all this stuff. Not that I would even want that anyway, because I want to maintain America. And I don't think that that is an American way of doing things. I'm not opposed necessarily to the idea of monarchy. I just don't think it would work here because of how we are so culturally wired. But we, it's just not going to work. This idea of accelerationism. So these people, they like to complain. They don't like to actually put the work in. They like to misconstrue and misinterpret things and to also mislead people. Don't fall for it. Don't fall for the bait. Don't fall for the bait. Look at what's actually happening. Look at the results. Look at the fact that you have Indians on Reddit that are complaining that their H1B visa appointments keep getting cancelled or pushed back or it's becoming more expensive. Look at the fact that you have libs on blue sky that are freaking out because their neighbors are getting abducted by ICE all the time. Things are happening. We can encourage an increase in the things that are happening. We can encourage increases in the pace of certain things like mass deportations. But to say that we have been betrayed on these issues and to say that these things are not happening is foolish and we should reject that, excuse me. So we are going to move on from that and I'm gonna take another sip of the chair wine. been taking sips here and there. And I have some great news. you probably know, I like to wear suits a lot. ⁓ you probably, if you're watching this, you probably have ⁓ circumstances in your life where you have to wear suits to, whether it's to church, to your job, to school, wherever. And so when you're wearing a suit, it's nice to have a nice tie. It's nice to have something that compliments you well. It's nice to have a pocket square with a nice fold. ⁓ things are nice as well. But every so often, Maybe you want to level up your game. Maybe you want to look even better than you did before. And that's where you get a lapel pen, but not just any lapel pen. You see, some lapel pens look great. know, classics like the American flag. Certain lapel pens out there, some of them are great. Some of them are cheap. Some of them are very bad quality. And some of them don't necessarily completely represent the values that you want them to. Represent and so that's where our new sponsor comes in as you can see this is a shiny Jerusalem cross lapel pen. Where did I get this? Where did I get this you might ask? Well the answer my friends is quite simple Deus volt lapel pens dot-com Deus volt lapel pens got dot-com they have a ton of great options both faith inspired and historical American symbolism inspired. In fact, they just came out with a new lapel pen for the 250th anniversary of America in conjunction with Pax Americana, one of my favorite ex-accounts. And if you go to their website, Buy any of their pins and you use the code Christ family nation to six You will get 10 % off of your order That is the code Christ family nation to six for 10 % off at deus volt lapel pens comm Go give them a visit go see what they offer and get yourself some based and red-pilled lapel pens you are not going to regret getting any of these pens. These things are awesome. All right. Moving on. We have got ⁓ a lovely segment for you guys tonight. I'm pulling out the and I'd just like to reiterate, if I was a more professional show, which hopefully I will be one day, I would have graphics for this. I would have things ready and locked in for this. And so I don't. because I am just one guy doing this in my bedroom. So I'm pulling out the iPad here and going to X and finding a post that I made earlier tonight where, okay, okay, I actually have to pull this one up just because it is something else. So. Actually, what I'm going to do for this question is if you are watching this and you go to my ex account, I'm about to repost a photo. answer this question but this is this is something hilarious that photo is it real it's classified it's classified Arctic Jaguar I'm gonna answer some questions that I was left today by some friends some Patriots for a Q &A and as I'm going through these questions if you have any questions if you want to contribute to this Q &A drop your questions in the chat I'm an open book I'll talk about anything even topics that I might be annoyed about and don't wanna talk about anymore. But we're going to do some Qs and some As here tonight. So let me just look at this real quick. Alright, so our first question comes from your local-based contrarian. A great ex-account would highly recommend following them. What do you think about the current state of the judiciary system and what could be done practically to improve it? Obviously, I think our judiciary system is still one of the best in the world, if not the best in the world, but it is very quickly being abused and taken over by bad people who want to do bad things. Obviously, you have a lot of Soros funded district attorneys and judges who let bad people out when they shouldn't be out of prison. And that contributes to a lot of the lawlessness that we see in the country today. When it comes to that, one big thing that I would encourage is get involved in primaries and then local races. These are incredibly important. It's not just the president. It's not just your congressman that you have to pay attention to. You should ideally be spending more time worrying about what's happening locally than you should nationally. Nationally obviously matters too, but we have gotten to a place where we are not paying enough attention. to local issues. So that's one thing is pay attention to what's going on locally and get involved in local races. If you are someone who is considering this path, know, do like I'm doing, go to law school, get involved, actually become a lawyer and an attorney, get involved in the judicial system, change the things you want to see changed. ⁓ That is obviously very important. I would argue that also Several states, there's a few states like Florida that have said that they're going to be breaking away from the monopoly that the American Bar Association has on the legal profession. Encourage your state to do that as well because the ABA is a big source of problems and if it, you know, we should have people that are working on the inside quietly making their way up to change it from the inside, but we should also probably to send a signal that things do need to change, get some states to break away like Florida is doing. Those are probably some of the more practical ways that we can actually fix our judicial system. Make sure that you're electing good district attorneys or in Virginia they're called Commonwealth's attorneys, whatever they're called, where you're from. Make sure you're electing good ones. Make sure you're electing good judges. Don't neglect these races because they are incredibly important. Alright, PatriotLandonJCollins asks, practical tips for political orgs organizations, my apologies, starting out. What role should the church play in politics if any? So that's two questions. Practical tips for political orgs starting out. Make connections. Go out and just talk to people, cold call people, cold email people. If you have individuals Whether it's at the community level, at the state level, at the national level that you want to get connected with and get your organization connected with, just send them a random email. Call them. Find out what their contact information is, whether it's an office number or an office email, whatever. Get in contact with them. Go to local events. Pitch your new organization. Go to national events. Pitch your new organization. Talk to as many people as you can. Get in front of as many people as you can, especially people that you think are going to help further your political project and your political cause. DM people on X. Just talk to people. That's the biggest piece of advice that I think is worth pursuing for starting out. Get people who have done this before and know what they're doing to help you. Just talk to people. That is a big, big thing. What role should the church play in politics, if any? Obviously, first and foremost, when it comes to Sunday morning service, which I think is like the central thing that most churches are built around, the pastor should not shy away from cultural and political issues when scripture addresses them. I'm someone who believes in expository preaching going verse by verse, book by book, digging into the scriptures. And so I don't think that you should really have topical sermons on Sunday mornings necessarily. But if you're talking about a scripture and things that are relevant to cultural happenings, whether it be marriage, whether it be abortion, whether it be transgenderism, whether it be political matters, whatever. When the scripture addresses these things, the pastor should address them. That is part of his role, in my opinion, for being a good shepherd for his flock, for his church. You should not shy away from these things as a pastor. I think another thing is that churches shouldn't shy away from getting involved in ministry and outreach things that are a little bit more political, like TPUSA faith. talk to your pastor about getting involved in TPUSA faith. As long as it's legal, I wouldn't be opposed to the idea of having drop boxes for ballots at churches. A lot of Christians, unfortunately, especially evangelicals, don't vote, even though they are conservative, they don't vote. And so this could be a way to remedy that and a way to get them to actually exercise their voice and vote. Now, if it's illegal in your locality, don't do it. obviously but if it's legal if it's perfectly legal do it do it why not and then there you know having people come for not on Sunday mornings but for maybe Sunday night or Wednesday night or a different time of the week and addressing like biblical worldview questions addressing what should we think about these issues from a biblical perspective talking to your congregation bring people in to discuss these things. think those are roles that churches can play. I think there's more than just that, obviously, but I think that those are good starting points and good things to consider. We have a question. I'm going to return to X in just a moment. We have a question from the chat. How do you personally maintain slash generate hope in your personal life when you are starting slash wallowing in despair? Well, I would suggest anytime you feel tempted to despair, go to the source of hope and truth, which is God's word. Open up the Bible. God has verses and God has messages of comfort. for us. Jesus said, come to me all who are weary and I will give you rest. Obviously, you you might not automatically just feel better if you just open up the scriptures and start reading the Bible, but if you take faith seriously, if you take God's word seriously, if you actually try to take prayer seriously, start having that relation, I I don't know if I like the term relationship with God just because of how it's used in some evangelical circles, but if you actually do look at it like a relationship, like father and son, because he is our father. If you take these things seriously and with reverence of course, but going to God with your worries and your concerns and the things that are bringing you trouble and you read his word and you pray, do it daily, you will start to see the despair leave your life. Now that doesn't mean that because you are a Christian and because you're doing these things that you're never going to be despaired. That doesn't mean you're never going to be sad. That doesn't mean you're always going to have an easy life. God doesn't promise us an easy life, but he does promise us that he will make us holier and that we will eventually find that true ultimate comfort and rest in him at the end of all things when we finally close our eyes for our last day on this earth and join him in eternal paradise. You shouldn't be wallowing in despair. Obviously, you know, there are things that happen in our lives that affect us deeply, and I'm not diminishing that. But what I am saying is that a true relationship with Christ can help ease some of those pains. And so you should be serious about exercising spiritual disciplines in your own personal life. Reading your Bible. Try to do it every day. I admit I am horrible at this. am preaching to myself on this one I am horrible at reading my Bible every day. I I want to do better at it Pray as much as pray without ceasing the Bible literally says pray without ceasing if you start to feel despair creeping up just start talking out loud to God and Don't you know obviously we want to have a healthy fear and respect for God and a reverence toward God But at the same time you read some of the Psalms or you read the book of Ecclesiastes, things aren't always pictured in this bright, happy light. You have David crying out, my God, my God, why have you forsaken? Be honest with God. mean, God already knows everything. He's God. But be honest with God, and that will go a long way in helping you as well. Cole Meyer asked a couple of questions here, actually. So we'll go one by one here. First one, why is it imperative for Christians to be invested in American history and the current state of affairs? He adds, as a geography, civics, US, and world history teacher at a Christian school, the kids are very interested, want to see more of that. Why should we be invested in history? A couple reasons. First off, a Christian perspective, specifically from my perspective, but I'm not the only one that thinks this. I think all of history ultimately in some way or another points to the fact that there is a God, there is a creator, and it points to Jesus Christ in some way or shape or form. I mean, you look at world history, you look at the different myths and legends and religious systems that have evolved in the world, and some of them have elements of truth to them, not in the way that liberals like to say that all roads lead to God, but when you look at a ⁓ lot of religious systems, they are many oftentimes either incomplete pictures or sometimes corrupted and perverted pictures of the truth. The truth is ultimately only found in Jesus Christ in the Holy Bible. and you are not going to find objective ultimate truth outside of those sources. But when you look at history, you see first off examples of things that are pointing towards that truth, even if they're not so clear. I mean, I'll give you an example. I believe it was Plato, someone who had no exposure to Christianity, didn't even have exposure to Old Testament, Old Covenant Judaism. And even he talked about these concepts that we see in Christianity, know, his classic allegory of the cave, we can look at that in a light where we can see that the person that escapes the cave is someone who has found new life and has had their eyes opened to the reality of their sin and despair by the Holy Spirit and has turned to Christ. And when they return to the cave to try and open the eyes of the others and to bring them into the light, They resist because we are a fallen race. We are a sinful people. You can use history to point to the gospel in so many ways. And in other circumstances, you can also use history as a way to show the blessings that God has bestowed upon a people and to teach about how God continues to bless us even to this day. I mean, just look at American's founding, for an example. It just so happened that at the right moment in history some of the brightest minds in the world came together, defeated the largest empire in all of history, and put together a nation that would go on to become one of the greatest sources of preachers of Christianity spreading around the world in all of human history. God obviously put that together. God blessed that. That is a work of God. not just a work of man. And so history is important for, think, those two reasons from a Christian perspective. One, it can point to the gospel, and two, it can point to the ways that God has blessed different peoples in time. His second question, why were Calvin Coolidge and James K. Polk both top five presidents? I find most people don't mention them enough or even know about them. I don't know as much as I should, but I do know enough to answer this question. Calvin Coolidge was probably one of the most, if not the most conservative presidents we've ever had. He literally shrank the size of government. ⁓ He did all sorts of great things in his presidency. And you didn't, from what I understand, hear about him all that much when he was president because he kept things low profile, which You know, I love Trump. I love his bombastic style, but I think that ultimately, ideally the president should be a position that most Americans don't care about as much as they do. With James K. Polk, I mean, he was, he had four things that he wanted to accomplish. He accomplished all four of them. And then he just left. He got a ton of Western territory from Mexico. He got Oregon from Canada. He fulfilled the manifest destiny in an insane way. He fulfilled all of his promises as president and then just said, okay, bye. the most effective president ever, question mark? But yeah, these guys are good. All right, so let me, I wanna check. ⁓ see if there's any more questions on X. If you have questions, drop them in the chat. If not, we might be able to get out of here pretty soon. I'm going to give you guys a few more minutes. If you have any questions, drop them in the chat now. I'm closing X, so I'm not going to check X again for the duration of this, however long this ends up going. But ⁓ if you guys have anything, drop it in the chat now. But in the meantime, before we answer any more questions, I do just want to remind you guys, Palm Sunday is this Sunday. which means Holy Week is almost upon us. We are about to enter into a season where we are commemorating and remembering the most important moments for the Christian faith. A few months ago we celebrated Christmas where the Word of God, the Son of God, God himself, became flesh and dwelt among us. And in just a few short days, we are going to commemorate his triumphal entrance into Jerusalem, the entrance of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, as he prepared for his final moments on this earth before on Good Friday, he was crucified, hung on a cross, and died for our sins. He was hung in our place. Whereas we deserved Punishment whereas we deserve death because of our sins Christ came down and Hung on the cross in our place, but the story doesn't just end there a week from Sunday We will commemorate and celebrate the fact that three days later He rose from the dead He rose from the dead and that is the most important aspect of our faith The Apostle Paul writes in the New Testament that if not for the resurrection, our faith is worthless. Our faith is useless. There's no use for it. And that is because Christ's resurrection symbolized the defeat of death, the defeat of sin, the ability of us if we confess our sins, turn and repent and trust in Him, place our lives into His hands, give our lives to Him. We can have eternal life. We can have communion with the Father. We can go to heaven and maintain eternal life in the presence of God. Politics are important social issues are important the things we talk about on this podcast are important, but there is nothing nothing Nothing more important than your standing with God When you die and you stand for the final judgment, are you going to hear the words, well done my good and faithful servant, or are you going to hear the words, depart from me for I never knew you? That is an important question and one you need to ask yourself if you're unsure. And if you are unsure, turn to Jesus. Give your life to him. It will be the best decision that you will ever make. All right, we've got one final question and then we're gonna wrap things up. What is your personal favorite book in the Bible? I really like the book of James. I'm a big fan of the book of James because I believe it's a very good practical application for ways to live the Christian life. I really love the book of Romans because it is basically the theology textbook of the Bible and teaches you the way to gain salvation. the process of justification. teaches you important central tenets of the faith and how to actually get into and maintain a relationship with God. think those are probably my two favorite books. And, you know, ⁓ I love the Gospels. I love the Book of John particularly. I love some Old Testament books. The Proverbs are full of wisdom. ⁓ I like Ecclesiastes a lot because it's this important. reminder that basically outside of God everything is meaningless if you don't have God in your life everything is meaningless but I think if I were forced to choose a favorite it would either be Romans or James those those are my those are my choices all right well guys thank you so much for tuning in thank you so much for being here tonight ⁓ it's been a pleasure being here thank you guys Share this with your friends, like, comment, and subscribe.
