Blu Robinson: Are you Vienna sausages? Josh: Mm-hmm. ⁓ Blu Robinson: Josh, I have not seen someone consume a Vienna sausage since 1984. And Saltine crackers. Sir, are you in poverty? Do you need me to send you? Buddy, are you okay? Are you and Marianne doing alright? I can send you guys some food. Josh: Well, and half an avocado. I- Sorry, I'm like, have my mouth full of everything you just mentioned. No, I'm good. I eat like a toddler, man. Like, Blu Robinson: You had no idea I was gonna push- I could smell that Vienna sausage from here and I'm what probably 35 miles away from you. Josh: There we go. Do you like them? Blu Robinson: I can't remember but I don't think so. They're creepy. Josh: They're not creepy, they're just, they're fancy hot dogs. Blu Robinson: Are they though Josh? It doesn't seem like they are though. looks like a pinky coming off of a mobster. Josh: Well, yeah, I mean, yeah, there's there's the cut right there. Blu Robinson: What is it? Oh, what is a Vienna sausage? Like, I think that's maybe an elaborate name. Isn't it a spam compressed into a tubular circumference stick? Josh: ⁓ well, it's Vienna sausage made with chicken beef and pork added in chicken broth. Blu Robinson: So basically at the end of the day, the conveyor belt just get all this crap in here, smash together Vienna sausage. Is that what it is? Josh: I don't think. I need, hold on. need my readers. can't, I can't read the fine print here. Hold on. This is how you know, this is how you know that I'm, I'm almost a 45. Um, Oh, you're, you're supposed to, you're supposed to heat these. So microwave sausages and broth on high in covered microwave safe dish. Not in this because there's metal. Blu Robinson: go right ahead ⁓ wow Eating like a toddler, but eyesight like an old man. No you're not. Are you serious? Josh: for 45 seconds or until hot. Stovetop, heat sausage and broth in skillet over medium heat until hot. Does anybody really heat? No, I don't think you heat a Vienna sausage. That's part of the experience. Blu Robinson: Mm. I don't think anyone... No way. No way. No way. No. I don't think you're supposed to eat Vienna sausages, man. Like, that is weird. I expect it from you, though. shouldn't be shocked, is what I'm saying. Josh: Ingredients are mechanically separated chicken. Seriously, that's like the first ingredient. Chicken broth. Water contains less than 2 % of salt, spices, beef, pork, sugar, sodium fosite, sodium flavoring, sodium nitrite, and garlic powder. Blu Robinson: What is that? That's a lot of salt, is what it's saying, man. And a little hint of garlic. Josh: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah, 790 milligrams of sodium. Blu Robinson: What did Mary Ann think when you threw that into the shopping cart? Was she like, what are you doing? Josh: Oh, I wasn't there. I do my own shopping when it comes to things like that, because I can't put that in the shopping cart when she's around, because she's like, Do we really need this? Yes, yes, we do. Blu Robinson: Specialty items Like to find need my love Yeah Wow that was what a way to start the best on podcast show Josh force-feeding himself penis sausage Josh: Yeah. Yeah. You know, it's kind of funny because most of food that I eat, because I eat fairly simple, like I'm not a complex eater. Mainly I've kind of learned like what sits well on my stomach and what doesn't. And the more complex food is, and granted, ⁓ feel people like, well, Vienna sausages, they're highly processed. I mean, fair point. But my stomach does well with those. Blu Robinson: Mm-hmm. Right. Mm-hmm. Josh: But like, know sits well and I've learned a lot of this from ⁓ trail, you know, like trail races, ultra races, because seriously, I mean, this combination I've eaten probably numerous times on, even marathon, like Salting Crackers, any race really. ⁓ Blu Robinson: Yeah, full body shiver. Mm-hmm. Oh my gosh, you guys. for for you listeners, Josh has held up a half of an avocado, his empty can of Vienna sausages and a ziplock bag full of probably four five left. What is it? Salting crackers. That is quite an. I think that's the same one. That's got to be the same one. The same sausage. Oh my gosh. I don't think I've eaten those since the late 80s, man. Oh my gosh, dude. That's poor. So I knew. Josh: Mm-hmm. I'm not done with my not I'm not done with my V &S office ⁓ Well, Blu Robinson: As soon as I saw that little bizarre stick of meat, I knew exactly what it was. Josh: No, you can add that. It's all good. Like you can add them. Blu Robinson: Would Maryann allow you to go kiss her now with Fianna Saucy's breath? Josh: Probably not. Blu Robinson: Your pondering you're probably not she wouldn't know until it was too late, huh? And then she'd smack ya You know like being a sausage flavor, ⁓ my gosh dude just too much Josh how you doing my man my buddy my pal. Sorry about last night I got busy kind of got crazy over here in the therapeutic world of coach blue Robinson's private practice Josh: No. Mm-hmm. Like, what is that? Did you brush your teeth? Yeah. I just ate a Vienna sausage. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Good! It's... Hey, dude. Hey, no need to apologize. It's just, it's, one of those weeks. It's a busy week. It's been a busy past couple of weeks, to be honest. just, ⁓ yeah, I mean, well, it's, it's Holy week. So there's a lot going on there. but I'm not going to lie is I, I am relieved just cause I have most of the stuff done that. ⁓ Blu Robinson: Yeah. noticed. Yeah. Josh: we did with holy last week with our primary kids, we did a walk through spoken church on Sunday. And I spoke, I just, was like the sense of relief. And so, ⁓ Blu Robinson: Dude, well, you know we should do then? What we should do, since it is Holy Week, is very unique idea. talk about our favorite Easter candy that's never been done before in any podcast. Let's not do that. ⁓ not do that because everyone's doing that. It's like Halloween and the pumpkins are like, let's eat the biggest pumpkin. For some reason, every podcast, everything they want to tell you, their favorite. Josh: no. ⁓ I know. Blu Robinson: Easter candy. all know what it is. Who cares? Do we do we spend time on this? No, the best aren't podcast shows. Better than that. Josh: Yeah. No, but I will say, I will say this though. have not consumed nor purchased any peeps because ⁓ yeah. It's yeah. One. Yes, exactly. And it's my silent. Well, actually it's not silent protest because this is a podcast that I'm talking about it. But yeah, my, but my protest is. Blu Robinson: Me either. Any candy, gosh, is too expensive. Just me and you and a few other of our friends listening. Josh: I'm not paying $1.82 for like six peeps. It's too expensive, right? Yeah. And even jelly beans. Depending on your jelly beans, right? Like just the basic jelly beans, I can kind of, okay, if it's like $1.87, but you're not getting much. And anyway, but yeah, I've Blu Robinson: Yeah. Highway robbery. Yeah. It is. No, No, think that's the thing. $7 for a bag of Cadbury eggs, a little, no, I refuse. yeah, we'll purchase those after the fact when they're on 50 % off and then we'll consume those. Josh: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Ahem. Yep. Yep. have to, that's the thing. That's the, that's the most wonderful thing about Easter Monday is discounted Easter candy. And it's what Jesus would want to do because Jewish, Jesus was Jewish anyway. So he'd want you to save money on it. Blu Robinson: Mm-hmm. Yep, absolutely. So I have a question for you because I feel like we've totally like overlooked this. was your St. Patrick's Day run with gas prices being high. ⁓ actually drove to the starting line of ⁓ race that literally probably would have been shorter if you walked. Like how this happen? Because as you showed me your map, I felt like we were supposed to talk about this. And I've been thinking about that a lot lately. ⁓ Josh: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Blu Robinson: trying to save a penny here, penny there, riding my bike to work and stuff. Did you realize how close starting line was to the front door of your house? Josh: No, it's like, we've talked about this in the past on our old running podcast. Dude, was like, it was the ADHD. It was the lack of planning. ⁓ assuming ⁓ this, you know, this was a race that was put on by South Jordan, by the city where I live. And thought, Blu Robinson: Ha ha ha ha! Yeah, ⁓ yeah. Yeah. Josh: that it was going to be at the same place where it was last month for the Valentine's Day race. No, it wasn't. And I wasn't exactly sure where it was going to be. I didn't know the address of the location before. And I knew it was a little tricky to get to. So I decided, I'm like, ⁓ OK, I probably should put it in my GPS. So I. Blu Robinson: It wasn't. Josh: put it in my GPS, literally as I was running late, a half an hour before the race, thinking, okay, I can make it, I can make it, I can make it, I can make it. Hopefully I can make it. put it, opened email, copy and paste the address. Didn't, I didn't know, you know, if it was the same location or not. Put it in. It's around the corner. Blu Robinson: Hehehe. I love it. I love it. Josh: It was literally up like the street, uh, just up the street from where I'm at. Less than a, I want to say it was less than a half a mile. If that, no, it wasn't even half a mile. was like a quarter of a mile, but because I was running late, I didn't have the luxury of like, Oh, okay. Well, I'll just walk to the race. So I drove the quarter of the mile, parked my car. And then ran the race. Yeah. Blu Robinson: ⁓ gosh, I love it dude. That's pure Josh fashion right there. I dig it. dig it. Which makes sense. Josh: Yeah. But see, and that's the thing. It's like, And if it wasn't, if it wasn't a 5k, well, I don't know if I can't, I don't know if I can say I wouldn't have done it if it was like a 5k. I probably would have done it if it was like a half marathon or a marathon. But usually if I'm feeling a little anxious about it, or if I need preparation, like I'll be on top of it. Like I will Google it the night before. And so I'm prepared and everything, but now like I've, I guess that's the kind of the curse of so much ⁓ racing so much that you just kind of. ⁓ Blu Robinson: Absolutely. And a little splash of ADHD in there and that's the result you get. And you know what I've got thinking about this specifically since our socials go so hot with the ADHD content, I have for you the ADHD tip of the week. You ready? Josh: Mm-hmm. things done before they need to be done. ⁓ Blu Robinson: Why not? not? Josh, you don't have object permanent issues. You have object ignorance issues. The good news is your brain knows exactly that things you put down will exist when you turn your back on them. The bad news is that you've just chosen not to care. So put a dollar bill on the counter, right? It doesn't turn invisible when you walk away. Vegetables in the freezer, you know, or for me, like I've got this new hyper fixation on grape Kool-Aid. Josh: Mm-hmm. Blu Robinson: ⁓ like squeezy things you put in your water. got about 60 of those floating around the house. forget that they're there. I don't care to look. So of fighting it, you got to just lean into it. If you got ADHD, you got to put the important stuff directly in your line of sight, ⁓ and super helpful. And leave in ⁓ Hey, take a of things. Call a lifeline. Do we have this at home? Arrange your environment. Josh: Bye. Blu Robinson: around so you can get the hey remember me kind of like reminders. The hidden rule if it's hidden okay it's fiction. If it's obvious it has if it's obvious it has a fighting chance meaning like you're not going to forget that you're married but you may forget that Mary Ann went to the store with you. That's your ADHD tip of the week. There you go. I saw a video of this either it was funny. Josh: Mm-hmm. So make sure I go home with Mary Ann. Blu Robinson: It's this lady calling her husband. She's like, where are you? He's like, I'm coming home from the store. And she's like, that's great. You know, he's like, don't worry, I got everything you need. She's like, are you alone? She's all, yeah. So you weren't when you drove to the store. He's like, oh, like, that's funny. Yeah, so good. Josh: Dude, that kind of happened to me ⁓ six months ago. So I went up to bountiful and I went up for a dentist appointment. And usually, when I go up, I'll go and ⁓ stop my parents' house and everything. And my mom was running to Costco and just like the good old days, ⁓ I Hey, tag along with you or whatever. Blu Robinson: Mm-hmm Mm-hmm. Josh: ⁓ went to Costco, nothing out of the ordinary. She didn't forget me there, but I did go take the, the cart back in the process ⁓ leaving taking it back, ⁓ she driving Like she, she left me in the parking lot. And so I to ⁓ like book it. it was kind of a busy day at Costco. Blu Robinson: ⁓ Josh: So there was traffic enough that I was able to catch up and get in the car. My mom was like, oh, my mom. Like, oh, I'm sorry. I forgot. But, but yeah. Um, so definitely it happens on both spectrums. Blu Robinson: See dude, that's funny. That's See? Yeah, so don't be doing it on yourself. You know they're there. You've completely forgot that it's important. Josh: Well, right. And that's, that's the thing I do have to remember ⁓ whole visual thing. Like ⁓ I'm Mr. like sticky note. But then ⁓ problem with that ⁓ when you have too many sticky notes, then it's just, it's overwhelming and you forget what had written down or what this, you know, this sticky note has to do. Blu Robinson: Mm-hmm. Yep. Josh: with anything because it made sense in the moment when you wrote it and then put it there, but then you can't throw it away because if I had to remember it, important I shouldn't throw it away until I figure out what it is. ⁓ Blu Robinson: ⁓ yeah, but I'm sure you and half the listeners here do this digital thing by which we take screenshots of stuff, trying to remember, you know, like what we want or something important. And then our camera roll is full of like random crap that we can't remember. Like, why did I want this? What was this about? Like right now, how many things are in your Amazon cart right now? How many are in your TikTok shop account right now? Your cart. I have tons of stuff in the cart. Then I'm like, why is that not coming? I haven't bought it yet. Josh: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. I... Yeah. ⁓ hmm. Teemu. Teemu. Teemu. Blu Robinson: Do you get the text from Tmoo saying like, hey, you've waited so long that now everything in your cart is one penny? You got that text yet? Josh: Um, yeah, like they're, they're, they're pretty militant about like, anytime you leave anything in your cart, or if you buy something and then like, you're $200 off or whatever. I'm like, I did not get $200 off anywhere. Blu Robinson: I just got in a text a minute ago. Yeah, they want you to remain over here. Do know what drives me mental about Team U is like, when you get on there and you've got to spin the wheel you got to spin the wheel again and you got to open presents and then you got to open presents and then you got to spin that wheel one more time. ⁓ dude, just open the app. I like these games. do people enjoy that? Like ⁓ the jumper? ⁓ Josh: Mm-hmm. Yeah. No, I, and I don't even play them. I just X out of them as much as I can because yeah, but it still will play the little thing sometimes. But the thing is, is they give everyone the same thing. Blu Robinson: Can you? I didn't know you could. Wait a minute, you've also gotten free merchandise? You can pick 10 free items? I thought it was just me. That sucks. You get it too? Josh: Mm-hmm. No, Yeah, it's the hobby lobby effect, right? Where everything is like 30 % off. And you're like, yes, 30 % off. That means I can get more stuff. No, it's not. Blu Robinson: Mm-hmm. How often do you go to Hobby Lobby with that wife of yours? Josh: pretty much every holiday. Blu Robinson: Is it you or is her driving that? Josh: It's mainly her. Blu Robinson: You pretend like you don't want to go, but then you're like, ooh, we should get this. That's what I do. I pretend like I don't want to go to freaking hobby lobby, then I'm like, we should get this, and we should get that. Josh: Yeah the worst though when it comes to emotional buying, especially when it's around... ⁓ Blu Robinson: I wouldn't have guessed that about you with that picture of spaghetti Josh over your shoulder. Yeah, I wouldn't have guessed that. Very frugal. Josh: Wow. It's even worse around holidays or anything like religious related. Like I can't go to Deseret Book without making an emotional purchase. Like I go over to even like the paintings of like Jesus and I'll sit there and I'll start crying. And my wife is like, are you crying? I'm like, shut up. Shut up. No. But I'm the same way. Blu Robinson: Mm-hmm. you I'm not crying, you're crying. Yeah. That's fun. Josh: I'm the same way at Hobby Lobby. Like I will go through the Christmas stuff, especially. And if anything reminds me of my childhood or whatever, I get emotional. And, and she's like, we don't need to buy that. Which we don't, which we don't because I've been cleaning or trying to clean our basement. Yes. I'm even still working on, you know, obviously my Blu Robinson: Hmm. Yeah, man. For weeks now. Your clothing. Josh: My clothing. Yeah. I blame Holy Week. ⁓ Obviously, I focused on the wrong thing for Lent. Yeah. But anyway, I've ⁓ trying to organize it or at least get things to the point where it's much easier to go through the things just ⁓ I've been grouping ⁓ of the boxes and everything that we have in the basement. Blu Robinson: That's funny. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Josh: And we have probably half of our basement chock full of Christmas decor. And we don't even use half of it. Like it, it's ridiculous. I had no idea because I thought half of the stuff that was down there, cause Mary Ann lived in, this place about 10 years before we got married. I thought it was maybe clothing of hers or, or like different kind of Blu Robinson: Wow. Mm-hmm. Josh: you know, personal storage. No, like half of the basement is Christmas decor. And, but I will say, we have kind of gotten a little crazy with the Easter decor since we've been married, cause it's both of our favorite holidays. Blu Robinson: That's awesome. If you don't do the bunny, what do you do? Do you do a lot of the eggs? Or do you do lot of like... Savior on the cross? Like what are you doing man? Like is this scary stuff? What are you doing? Josh: No, Jesus stuff. Like, ⁓ we, bought a, we bought an olive tree, like not a real olive tree, but we have like a fake olive tree that's in our, ⁓ that's in our living room. Blu Robinson: What? How tall is said olive tree? ⁓ my gosh, like we're talking Christmas tree olive tree. Wow. It's a fake olive tree? Where'd you buy that? No kidding, I'm gonna look this up. Josh: It's eight feet. Yeah. So we have that. Yeah, ⁓ Amazon, man. Yeah. Yeah, Amazon. We also have a lot of Tmoo art. Tmoo a... Blu Robinson: Hmm. Tmoo Art's good. Is Tmoo Art stuff that's got just a little bit of a wackiness or is it decent? Josh: Yeah, yeah, like there's there's one of Palm Sunday where Jesus, you know, when Jesus comes in, in writing on the donkey, it's not a donkey. It's a white horse, you know. So you kind of have to look past that aspect. And I think one of the pictures of Jesus has like six fingers. But other than that, like. Blu Robinson: you That is a wonderful. I can totally see you purchasing a faux olive tree. That's actually kind of impressive. How did you find this? You find the most amazing things. I would never have thought this would be a thing on there. Josh: Yeah. Yeah, we. so my, my siblings, ⁓ three, ⁓ three of my siblings have olive trees that they do for Easter. ⁓ a couple of them actually, ⁓ actually ⁓ of them keep it up year round. ⁓ knowing, knowing MO with Christmas trees and everything, I'm pretty sure this olive tree is going to be a all year round type of thing. Blu Robinson: Mm-hmm. Quite nicely priced as well. Hmm. I was going to say that might be your new Christmas tree. If you got two of those, could you hang a hammock between the two? Josh: I wish it is an Amazon purchase, so I wouldn't trust it. ⁓ Blu Robinson: It's a small plastic pot on the bottom, if you wedge it in somewhere nice and tight, you might be able to. I don't know. Okay. Josh: Mm-hmm. Well, I actually had to I actually had to go buy a pot from Costco because it kept tipping over with just what it came in so I've only I've only caught them once trying to chew one of the leaves ⁓ am a little worried but Blu Robinson: What do the cats think? Are they like, let's go? Okay, I might be stupid here and correct me. Olive tree. olives grow on trees like legitimately? The ones you put on your fingers like, wow. ⁓ Josh: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Yep. Yeah. And that's one thing. cool thing about the olive tree, yes, like it's very symbolic, you know, of Jesus ⁓ of Easter and everything. ⁓ ⁓ ⁓ Are you thinking of Martinis? Blu Robinson: Making margaritas? No, that's, he doesn't do that. The olive and the margarita. Marquini. I'm a drug and alcohol counselor. I don't do that stuff. thinking, ⁓ can get an olive tree with legitimate fruit on there. Josh: fair point, fair point. Yeah, yeah, ours has the fake olives. Yep. Blu Robinson: Naturally textured tree trunk does it green or black? Josh: green. ⁓ Blu Robinson: Mmm. I am impressed. I'm impressed. So legitimately you guys decorate for these. there be a ceremony as taking down of this and then putting up like obviously like maybe the next thing of 4th of July? Pioneer Day? Like do you guys do that? Josh: I don't know. Like we need to definitely set the boundaries on when we take down our Easter decor. being Greek as well, ⁓ we, we also do celebrate, Orthodox Easter. So, ⁓ it's just, it's the difference. There's the Orthodox church and then there's the, I guess what more so the Nicene Christian creed. Blu Robinson: ⁓ huh. Wait a minute, what's the difference? What does that mean? Josh: And so there's, there's two kind of, yeah. So basically like the, the, the Western church and the Eastern church and the Greek Orthodox is, is the Eastern Orthodox or Russian Orthodox as well. but it's a slightly different calendar. ⁓ ⁓ Easter, regular, ⁓ I it regular Easter. Blu Robinson: Wow! Okay. Mm. Josh: Regular Easter and Orthodox Easter sometimes will be on the same Sunday. Sometimes it won't. I can't remember exactly there's a difference. I think it has something to do with the lunar moon and everything, but. Blu Robinson: I'm going to go ahead and believe you because I have nothing to just claim that on. So it sounds good to me. Josh: Yeah, and I don't want to fact check myself because I probably gave you bad information. Blu Robinson: Well, you know, I'm amazed. I had no idea you could purchase such things. I do want to talk to you briefly about a common buddy we have together. And last night I messaged our buddy and I said, hey, the Cubs are playing the Angels. ⁓ he said, he said, the winner, whoever wins is going to buy ⁓ of the game. I'm like, you're on. Josh: Yeah. Yes. Blu Robinson: my Cubs won. So Brandon owes you and I shakes. And I saw he graciously like messaged us today saying it's game on. So thank you Brandon. We will be taking my Cubs will be taking the pennant this year all the way. So yeah my prediction right now Josh. Josh: Yeah You know, I, I need a team. I, ⁓ and no. Like the Cubs are one of my teams. I, it's just hard when I don't, ⁓ when not a local team. Right. And so there's, there's nothing that's really keeping me rooted to a certain team. Blu Robinson: You don't have a team? Yeah. Yeah. Well, you have connections to Chicago. You served your mission there. I mean, that's all that was on TV back in the olden day with WGN. I mean, we all watched and ⁓ Carrey ⁓ the seventh inning stretch. So, yeah, I mean, we watched that, the background for pretty much our whole childhood, which got me to like ⁓ the ⁓ But yeah, I guess that's true, right? Like the local team. Josh: Yeah, and I've. Yeah. Blu Robinson: That makes sense. And for some reason, I'm a Nets fan, right? Like the Brooklyn Nets, because basketball team. Josh: Yeah, but see, that's kind of how I am with with baseball because like I love the Giants and I love the Cubs. Yeah, Giants, I love I love San Francisco. I just love San Francisco. One of my one of my favorite of my favorite places. Just there's always something around every corner. ⁓ wouldn't it necessarily to New York. Blu Robinson: Really? You're the Giants. That's going deep. Why the Giants? Never been. Is it amazing? Right. Josh: But I always feel like with San Francisco, just like New York, there's always something different and something to explore every time you go. Blu Robinson: Rice-a-Roni. a San Francisco treat, so, right? When's last time you've been there? I've never been there. Marissa said she loves San Francisco. She's like, I wanted to take me, but I've never been. What are you doing in San Francisco? Josh: Yes. Yes. It's actually been, it's actually been about 15 years now. Blu Robinson: What do do in San Francisco, man? Like what's I mean, what do do? Josh: Walk around Alcatraz ⁓ lot of just little museums ⁓ things like that that are along. You ⁓ the peer. ⁓ Blu Robinson: What? I hope you know Josh, I'm taking one for the team and for the Best Darn Podcast show. And I've got tickets to go to museum in New York that has all the Muppets. So, ⁓ I'll be taking photos for you. But I've never, I've heard ⁓ Street, is that the one that's got the wiggity-wiggity kind of, okay, like I know that. Josh: You should take me. All of them, all of them, take pictures of. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. You got to go see the full house house The house yeah, or at least the exterior ⁓ But yeah Golden Gate Bridge Blu Robinson: And that's about it. Golden Gate Bridge. ⁓ Gotcha. It's always funny when you see that stuff in real life, huh? Like when you see movie sets in real life, because like when we were in New York, the greatest place on earth, and we were in Washington Square, right there in Washington Square, it's got that arch, right? And right next to it is Dr. Neville's house from ⁓ Am Legend. And so when were there with our family for Christmas last year, I'm like Camden, look. Josh: Mm-hmm. Blu Robinson: That's where Dr. Neville is. And you just saw his face. It was like seeing a celebrity. He's like, his whole like persona. He's like, what? That means this is where the Zambies came in? I'm like, yeah, man. Like, it's funny. Like when you go past Napoleon's house up there in Preston and full house, it's iconic. yeah. Josh: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Well, same with like Chicago. ⁓ you know, the, the, ⁓ home alone house ⁓ very popular. ⁓ yeah. Yeah. I love to do kind of like a John Hughes tour or something of Chicago. I think that'd be a lot of fun, but like it, it's even, even like going to a universal studios, doing the backlog tour. Blu Robinson: Mm-hmm. yeah. John Hughes in Chicago was kind of like everything, yeah. ⁓ man, yeah. Brooklyn, my daughter went nuts when she saw the freaking, yeah, it's like town square. Just laid the clock tower. Like she came unglued. Yeah. Josh: and like the whole neighborhood. Yeah. Well, and then the neighborhoods, you know, everything, like if you watched, uh, what is it? Desperate housewives. Um, it's the same neighborhood as like the burbs and, uh, what else is there? I think the, was it the Adams family or the Munsters? One of, one of those, but yeah, like it's the same house as this or that or, know, whatever. And like, that's, that's cool. Like that's fun. Blu Robinson: burbs, right? Mm-hmm. Josh: to be able to kind of see ⁓ some of the and everything. ⁓ can't remember though if there's anything in the homes or if it's just the outside. Blu Robinson: I don't know, but let's be honest. We still always look at that weird building that's up by the Delta Center that was in Dumb and Dumber, too. like, that's where they went that one time. Yep. Josh: Yep. Yep. Or like, or like the 7-Eleven. Yeah. yeah. Yep. Yep. Blu Robinson: Yeah, the St. Louis Big Gulp song. Iconic. We were in California once and my son quoted that while we were standing around and some other dude came out like that was like I think we were in Long Beach and he started like reciting lines with him. Like it was a funny thing some random guy just like I'm like that's impressive like you both know like what's coming next. Yeah. I've never been to San Francisco but I want to. Josh: That's awesome. Yeah, there's that's and that's kind of the cool. Yeah, you should. You you you totally should. I still a few things I want to do because I don't what kind of traveler you are. But especially if a place that you love, like New York, I was San Francisco. love leaving something that I want to do to kind of ⁓ motivate to come back, you Blu Robinson: Mm-hmm. Mm. I love that idea. Yes. Josh: So I still haven't done Alcatraz. part of that reason is because I kind of want to do Alcatraz with my brother, the hunter. But he actually doesn't really do ghost hunting anymore. So I don't know how that will work. Yeah. Yeah. But. Blu Robinson: Mm. ⁓ yes. That would be cool, actually. Yeah. Maybe a special little trip though, but yeah, I mean that would be cool. I mean, that's thing is I would go there and be like, this is where the rock was filmed, right? With ⁓ Cage, he's walked these halls. like that's, yeah. How man. Josh: No. Yeah, there was a, ⁓ I can't remember when it was probably 10, 15 years ago. think it was NBC that had, had a show. think it was called Alcatraz ⁓ and actually got into it. I think it, I can't remember the whole plot, but I think it kind of turned into almost kind of this paranormal type of thing. ⁓ Blu Robinson: Hmm. Of course. Josh: I got into it, then like anything on NBC or anytime I put any vested interest into a new series, it's always canceled and it only lasted one year, which drives me crazy. And I think that's honestly one of the reasons why I stopped watching TV as well, because I just got so mad. Like the only, the only show that I got into that actually lasted more than a year was Chicago Fire. Blu Robinson: Exactly, you never know what's coming back. ⁓ That's interesting. I've never seen that, but I've heard about it. Josh: No, I mean, I gave up on it a while ago, but, you ⁓ know. Blu Robinson: Well have you noticed that most streaming programs now they're not binging things anymore, they're not releasing everything at once. Like now they're making you do like the old fashioned days, like where it comes out once a week and I'm like I can't do that. Like I'll wait till it's all out. you know, you can't teach us with everything and then give us nothing. Josh: Yep. Yeah. Well, and I wonder if it's. Yeah, like I, I really do wonder, like, does that make a difference in streaming? Like, I I would think that you would want to release it all together, you know, or in more or in like three episodes at a time or something. Blu Robinson: Yeah, I don't know what the difference is. Yeah, yeah, I don't know. Well, it's like this, too. It's like, you know, I heard that they're making like a Mandalorian movie with that little Yoda dude and, and, well, guy. And my are super excited about that. But I don't think I've even seen the last two seasons of that. Like, so I don't even know what's going on. So. Josh: Yeah. Well, it's been forever. think they last released it... was it 2022? Blu Robinson: Yeah. I rage quit my Hulu and Disney Plus during the whole cancellation phase in the middle of the summer. And I really not wanted to get it back because I'm like, this isn't bad, not watching TV all the time. Josh: day. Wait, wait, wait, the cancellation rage, what was this? Blu Robinson: Yeah. Don't you remember when that one weirdo who's living in the White House killed Jimmy Kimmel and I'm like, I will show you. And so because Jimmy Kimmel Disney something, I don't know. I was like, it was my way to stick it to the man. And I'm saving quite a bit of money, but now don't know what's going on in the world of the MCU or Disney like plus stuff. heard there's a new or something, but I'm like, Josh: See ya. Blu Robinson: I'm so far behind in any of that stuff, it's like, ⁓ too late to start now. Josh: I'm so glad that we focus on ADHD and not entertainment news. Blu Robinson: I know. Yeah, I'm sure that like everybody likes like if Kenny listens, he's like, you guys are dumb. Like, yeah, it's well, I'll tell you, I have been watching a lot of old movies as well. just read last night, I watched a movie 1984 called Chud. Oh, my gosh, Josh, have you seen Chud? Yeah. Josh: God, that sounds familiar. What's it about? Blu Robinson: It's about radioactive zombies that live in the sewers of New York. And ⁓ quite a show. Chud, they stand for... SEMS or something, I ⁓ don't know. there's these guys because they've been dumping ⁓ nuclear waste in sewers of New York and all the homeless people who live in the tunnels are going missing. And Marv from Home Alone, the guy who does the voice for the Wanderers. ⁓ He's the only one that cares that these guys are disappearing. And so he enlists the help of a cop and the cops go figure it out that there's toxic waste down there turning. Josh: Yeah. Wait. He does the voice for the Wonder Years? Blu Robinson: You didn't know that? Yeah. Marv, like, the guy who screams and turns into the Skellington, like, in Home Alone, right? Yeah, he's the voice of the Wanderers. me you didn't know that. Josh: Yeah. Yeah. No, I didn't know that. Blu Robinson: Think about listening to the guy's voice and you'll be like, ⁓ my gosh, that is him. Why they chose him to do it. don't Google it right now. Pull it up. Pull up wonder years and then like narrator and you'll see it's my wife didn't believe me either. And I'm like, is it that hard to believe? Like, I'm not sure why I'm the only one that knows this. But anyway, as you're looking that up, I'll tell you the whole thing revolved around these nuclear waste guys killing people. And the very end, Josh: ⁓ Blu Robinson: They find that there's like five or six of them downstairs in the pits of the subways and they only kill one and then the movie's over. There's still four chuds chilling out down there. So what the heck? Like what a dumb movie that was. Very disappointing. Josh: I'll be I had no idea yeah so his ⁓ Blu Robinson: Are you looking at his IMDB? He's in chud. Josh: Huh. Blu Robinson: We'll do tell. What are you discovering in America? What's his name? Josh: He doesn't. Okay. Yeah, sorry. This is, this is such riveting content for a podcast. I'm like, huh? ⁓ Daniel Stern. Yeah. Daniel Stern. is best known for his roles ⁓ ⁓ ⁓ Marv merchants in Home Alone, Home Alone 2 ⁓ ⁓ Burquist in City Slickers 1 and ⁓ Blu Robinson: That's right, Daniel Stern. ⁓ And chud. ⁓ that's right. That was a good show. Josh: He's the voice of adult Kevin Arnold on the Wonder Years. He's also the voice of Dilbert on the animated series. Blu Robinson: Boom. Data management series at Tilbert. Josh: Other notable films Breaking Away, Stardust Memories, Diner, ⁓ Blu Robinson: Breaking away was rad. That's about, that's biking, that's cycling, man. cutters, I love it. Josh: ⁓ Blue Thunder, Hannah and her sisters, the Milargo-Beanfield War, ⁓ Cope DeVille, and Very Bad Things. He made the feature film directional debut with Rookie of the Year. I didn't know that he did that one. Blu Robinson: Of course, can't forget that one. I remember that. It doesn't give him credit for Chud? Come on, man. Josh: ⁓ Well, that was what I think he was best for. ⁓ Blu Robinson: You got a pretty big roll in chud. Sounds like something you do in the bathroom. don't know. It's gross. Josh: Let's see. Yep. Yeah. He's, ⁓ he's AJ the Reverend Shepherd and also an uncredited writer in Chud. Hey, that same year he was in Frankenweenie. Blu Robinson: Hmm, mhm. See? There you go. I'm telling you. Mic drop. Josh: Yeah. I didn't know. Yeah, I had no idea, but he hasn't really been in anything the past like, ⁓ no, I take that back. He's mainly been doing TV stuff the past like five, 10 years. So, hmm. Blu Robinson: Mm. See? Yeah, it's funny when you kind of bump into those kind of like, those actors that have like these very deep ⁓ to so many shows you've watched, ⁓ know them from one or two roles is all. It's Josh: Oh, he was in Celtic Pride. Do remember that? Yeah, yeah, I just remember how unrealistic it felt because the jazz were in the finals. Blu Robinson: I do remember that holy crap that's a deep cut. Yeah I forgot about that one. Man. Exactly. There's no way this is definitely a fiction and somewhat of a horror show. Yeah. And they almost made it. They almost made it. Last night when I was going to get my Chick-fil-A up, before I... Have you ever noticed when you go to ⁓ a up, how much anxiety you get they do the zipper movement where there's like two ordering screens and you have to know, do I go first? They go... If that one person goes a little bit ahead of you, you're like, what are you doing? Josh: Yeah. Mm hmm. Yeah. ⁓ yeah. Blu Robinson: I don't think there's more anxiety than that movement, like the zipper... Josh: Well, Because sometimes I swear there are people who ⁓ to make sure that like they go first. ⁓ that me, especially, ⁓ I know. I last week ⁓ McDonald's ⁓ of same thing. And it was, it was a pickup truck. And you know, I may be a little biased against pickup trucks just because I think every ⁓ Blu Robinson: Mm-hmm. Josh: Cause yeah, I just think that everybody who drives, it seems like everybody who drives them, you know, they're the problem on the road, right? best possible to put that. ⁓ Yeah. so the, this guy, like first off kind of cut me off in the parking lot. And so I already was like, but then ⁓ he ⁓ gunned after he ordered his food when I was. ⁓ Blu Robinson: Just saying. Just saying. Yeah. Josh: Like we were pulling out of booth or whatever, the second booth, you know? I'm like, I know. And I'm like, all right, like we're all going to get our, we're all going to get our food. Like, doesn't matter who goes first, but like is in the back of my mind, that thought of like, I, I hope that it's in the right order, you know? Blu Robinson: Hamburglar behind the wheel. ⁓ Yeah. What the crap's that about? Can I tell you about a not so good moment in Blue's life this week? All right. I've repented for this just so you know. I feel like I'm good. I'm good if we're getting into Easter or Sunday. But so the other day I'm getting gas again, you know, over at the at Costco. And there's an etiquette when getting gas at Costco. If I was to say to you, Josh, if you were behind two cars pumping gas and the car Josh: ⁓ sure. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Blu Robinson: As far as from you, pump number two, if you will, drives away. you A, wait for the car at pump B to drive away so you can pull all the way forward through? Do you B, start trying to mad dash it so that you can slalom through the two cars that are still there on each side to then pull over and back up to the pump so you can get pump number one, leaving the guy behind, pump number two waiting, like in my position. Josh: Mm-hmm. Blu Robinson: Or do you see, just decide to go somewhere else for gas? What do you think you do? What's move there? Josh: I just, actually thought about this because I, I gassed up as well. And granted, whenever I gas up, I usually go ⁓ right before closing. So yeah. So there's nobody there because it does, it gives me anxiety gassing up. I wait, I wait like, yeah, because I also, part of the reason why I have that anxiety is because I've seen YouTube videos. Blu Robinson: So there's nobody there. Josh, what's the right answer? You wait until you pull through, correct? Josh: of people completely freaking out when somebody does try to, you know, like finagle their way in and then back up. Blu Robinson: That was me. That happened to me. So here's what happened. Let me tell you, okay. And Dick Evans, I was on the phone, or would have filmed this man because he... here it is. The guy in the farthest part drives away. The guy who's got gas, he's getting ready to finish business. But then the poor gal beside him ⁓ is problems. So he just briefly steps over there to help her. Josh: Yeah Blu Robinson: We're talking maybe 35 seconds, but the homeboy behind me just could not be bothered to wait. And so he almost sideswipes me as he's going up to pull through to pass me and the car at pump one to get to pump two and then maneuver his way back. then that guy who's now pinned between me and car number one, who couldn't wait, had to like do the back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, and then pull out. And when I got out, I was talking to Marissa on the phone and I was the most passive aggressive beast. Josh: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Blu Robinson: I said, hey, looks like we're all living in your world, huh? I said, didn't know you were the main character and we're all just pawns in your story. And he's all looking at me. And then he gave me that look like, what do you want? And so I got louder. I'm like, yes, gotta pretend it's all about you, huh? And dude, I was like, passive aggr- it felt good. I started getting adrenaline, like, let's go, right? Josh: Mm-hmm. Blu Robinson: And said, he made a mistake. said, what did you want me to do? said, I wanted you to be self-aware and wait for 30 seconds. But no, you can't be bothered. And then all of a I feel this tug on my shirt from behind. I'm like, ⁓ crap, maybe I'm getting a little loud and someone's going to try. Hey man, calm it down. It's just gas. I turn around, this cutest old lady wearing an addict to athlete shirt that was from a run a couple of years ago. Hi coach blue. I'm wearing. I've never seen this person before in my life. I'm wearing a running shirt. I'm like, ⁓ that one belongs in the Smithsonian. I felt so dumb. Maybe that was God saying, hey, man, take a chill pill. But I felt so yet humbled and like still pissed at that guy. I had a mix of emotions. I had to go in and get me a turkey sandwich from Costco's. But man, ⁓ it not so great, but I got humbled real quick. So yeah, I felt like I wonder. ⁓ Josh: ⁓ my gosh. Blu Robinson: I mean, she was probably 70 if she was 80, man. She was this old lady and she's like, she knew who I had no idea who she was. But I'm like, thank heavens for prayers because I would have kept going with this guy. What do want me to do? I want you to be self-aware. Like it was, it was the not so great moment, ⁓ a very lovely ending. So ⁓ I'm sorry. Don't think less of me. Josh: That's funny. ⁓ my gosh. No, I just, love the humbling turn of events right there. Blu Robinson: I was not expecting that. was one from probably about four five years ago that was ⁓ take... ⁓ did ⁓ Aurum. It one we did in Aurum. And it was one that you made. And so I'm like, ⁓ geez. It's ⁓ aqua blue and black. it was awesome. But I'm like, all right, I guess I better just leave that alone. Josh: ⁓ I think I know which one. Yeah. I think I know which one you're talking about. Mm hmm. Mm hmm. Blu Robinson: because maybe that guy needs to go home to tend to his sick dog or something or sick cats. don't know. But wait your turn. Yeah. Josh: Yeah. Or no. And that's, that's the thing. Like I'm, don't know. I, that's why I avoid like Costco at a peak hour, you know? Blu Robinson: I've never liked that. I don't know why it bugged me so bad, but it's like, ⁓ I'm sorry. And we live in your world. Like, we're all just pawns in your main character story here. And he's all looking at me like, whoa. Josh: I... I don't know. I'd probably just start crying to be honest with you. Blu Robinson: ⁓ dude. There's something about being passive aggressive that feels real good, but I don't think a lot of people understand like that you're the only one that probably knows what you're saying. Does that make sense? This man knew what I was saying, but all in the same breath I'm like, dude, don't do that again. Maybe I humbled him enough to be like, that was a bad choice. Or maybe it wasn't choice. I don't know. I should probably just drop it. Anyway, how's your week? Josh: ⁓ huh. What was he driving though? That's what I want to know. Blu Robinson: probably a 1998 Osmobile two door, like one of those old suckers. you know, it wasn't anything like lavish. But he did look like he was in physically good shape. So if we wanted to race, I probably would have lost. I Josh: Unless it was a, unless it was a cycling race. Blu Robinson: If it was a cycling, I would have cycled around the moon. I'd been dropping like a hot rock, but... ⁓ He was wearing what looked like a tracksuit from Adidas. I don't know, but yeah. He was an older fella. I'm not gonna lie. So he's old enough to know better. Shame on you. Josh: You was like, look at these quads. See, yeah, I don't know. won't lie. ⁓ wish that Costco's nationwide were just like the ones in Oregon and New Jersey ⁓ you can't pump your gas there. You to have an attendant that pumps your gas for you. ⁓ Blu Robinson: What makes them different? Really? They don't trust you with the pump? Josh: Yeah, don't know why other than it's kind of nice. Unless, you know, unless it's inconvenient. Well, it'd be inconvenient, but I mean, yeah, it's it's against the law for you to pump your own gas. Blu Robinson: ⁓ Really? Is that? I would feel awkward man. Well, I go to an oil place now that doesn't even let you get out of the car. You sit there behind the wheel as they change your oil, which I thought was kind of cool until I started realizing how much eye contact I'm making with the people doing it. I'm like... Josh: Is it, oh, is it the take five or whatever it is or the? Blu Robinson: This is a Jiffy Lube down here in Springville. It's barely open. But yeah, it's weird. Yeah, it's like we don't want you in our lobby eating our free popcorn. You stay in your freaking car, man, and answer all of our questions. Do you want this air filter changed or not, sir? No, it looks clean. It looks clean, yeah. Well, it's recommended that we change your transmission oil 16 times. I think it's fine. It's not in my car. It's a company car. Yeah. Josh: ⁓ I want the popcorn. Mm-hmm. Blu Robinson: I don't like those questions. Do you ever let them change your air filter for like 55 bucks more than what it really costs? Josh: Yeah, I usually say yes to whatever they recommend. Because I don't know. You know? Yeah. Blu Robinson: Dude, Marissa yelled at me so I don't need to do anything. Do you want some new wipers? I think they're fine. It hasn't rained in like six months. I don't know. Yeah. Josh: Yeah, actually that's one thing that I do need fixed that too, ⁓ I don't know if it's because I'm too proud to go in to AutoZone or if I just don't know exactly what to ask because I Blu Robinson: You don't get them from Costco? Costco, buddy. They have them. They're cheap. They're great. Josh: You know, wait, they have cost like people at Costco that will do it for you that they'll. No, that's what I did. Like I, bought them. They in everything, but for some reason, the driver's side ⁓ wiper will just. Blu Robinson: Why person? You can buy them yourself, but it's hard. Mm-hmm. not wipe hmm it's kind of an important wiper you need and if the passenger doesn't get to see who cares but you need to be able to see what's coming Josh: abandon ship. it just, like I was driving. Yeah. Yeah, like I can't ace Ventura myself, you everywhere. Blu Robinson: You know what's crazy about the ones you buy at Costco and stuff is they come with like 16 other kind of clips and I'm like which one do you use? Like you have to do this weird kind of contorting configuring thing to get them to stick. Yeah I'm not... My brain doesn't work that way, you know what saying? Josh: Yeah, and I think I've used the wrong one every time. Yeah, just yeah, because I think I just need to go to AutoZone and have them do it for me. Blu Robinson: How do you say that though, man? You're like, you got to... Josh: I'm like, I'm a man and I'm here to ask for help. Like, you don't do that at AutoZone. You know? Blu Robinson: I think I would do that. I don't know how to change them because they're all different but like I've done it and they've stayed on so I'm like yeah I'm I don't know about that Josh. I'll change it for you buddy. Josh: No, because like this one I had to go back. I ran into traffic to get my wiper. right. ⁓ yeah, like I. It was raining and I needed it. Blu Robinson: What? You circled back? ⁓ man. You're like, I can't make it. I can see you like Frogger trying to like dodge the cars to get your warped blade. Josh: Luckily, luckily it wasn't it was on a side street and it wasn't on, you know, wasn't on one hundred and fourth. But ⁓ my gosh, like. Blu Robinson: ⁓ yeah. ⁓ man, I could just see you running in the middle of street doing like a shoulder roll, grabbing it and shoulder rolling back out like Josh: Mm-hmm. So when it rains, I just pray that it doesn't rain bad because I can't, ⁓ I can only do the slowest wipe. Otherwise, it will just, whoop, like, ⁓ just abandon ship. Blu Robinson: See that's the other thing then. ADHD and wiper tempo. One of the hardest things is to get it to where you're satisfied with it, not that it's catching up. Because if it starts to like jump or bounce or scream, I hate that. And so, Marissa's like, turn the wipers on and I'll just do click, click, then shut off. And then she's like, why don't you do the wipers? And I'm like, because. Josh: Mm-hmm. Blu Robinson: timing's off. there's no rhythm to it. There's no tempo. You know what saying? Like, either it's way too fast or it's way too slow. Dang, dude. Yes. Josh: Yes. Let's see. And then there's my wife who like if it if it starts getting dry, or if it's working too fast, then she'll turn them off. And that drives me crazy. I'm just like, just leave it on. Just leave it on. Fine. It's fine. It's fine. But no. Blu Robinson: UGH Yeah. Do you know I can't handle? I can't handle a suburban in the mothership. If you push it to have the washer fluid pump out, you'll push it out and then it'll do like one, two, three, four, like fan, good, perfect. Then all of sudden, about 30 seconds later, it'll do another one out of nowhere. What's that? We don't need that one. Josh: Mm-hmm. Yeah, I've noticed that. I've noticed that with our newer car. Why was it just to pick up any leftover water that just happened to be hanging around? Blu Robinson: Yeah, I don't need that. There's never any water there. It does fantastic the first five passes. It doesn't need a delayed sixth. Josh: Yeah, well, and then it threw it threw me off for like the first six months because then I thought, ⁓ I left the wipers on and then I turn them back on, you know, and you're just like you're in this like cycle. Yeah, you're just in this cycle that never ends. Blu Robinson: You're crashing into a pine tree, yeah. out or you mysteriously somehow turned on the rear one that you never do and also like what's going on back there and somehow you've turned that on like yeah man like i don't know they're becoming way too complex brother like you know Josh: I will have to say, I find it funny because apparently that, your, your windshield or like spraying your windshield can also be a form of like road rage. Have you seen this? Like people will, ⁓ it's like, it's like splashing. Yeah. Cause it's like, it's for people, it's like, I guess splashing water on the car behind you or whatever. And which like, Blu Robinson: Are you serious? Well, do tell because maybe I'll use it. Josh: That's a thing? But apparently it is. Blu Robinson: That's sharing the privilege of being above a clean windshield, right? Like, no, I don't like that. Maybe you get spots on their car and they're like, hey, man, I just had this wash. Josh: Yeah, I don't like I, I, if somebody did that to me, I'm like, ⁓ I wouldn't think like, ⁓ he's raging against me. Blu Robinson: Maybe it is, but I've seen people that have almost gotten in car accidents to avoid high school sprinkler that happens to go in the road a little bit, or the church sprinkler that's a little bit too far. And were literally going to the oncoming traffic to avoid the splash back or even getting hit with it. I think it's a little bit much. Like you guys, it's water. ⁓ I know. Yeah, I'm with you. Maybe I'll try that to see next time the guy pulls in front of me at Costco. I don't know. ⁓ Josh: Okay. water yeah Blu Robinson: Josh, that might be a show. I think we might have exp- exp- expanded on pretty much every angle and a little bit more. Josh: Yeah, because I still have like a couple more Vienna sausages to eat. Blu Robinson: Those are now room temperature shiver. Eww man. I don't know we still don't have a way to sign off but think with your Vienna sausage that might be enough for one night so we'll see you next time listeners. Ciao. Josh: No, there's still a slight chill to it.
