Jake Lewellen: Welcome back to Thursday Thoughts. I'm excited. It's been a couple of weeks since we have done this we're not talking bourbon tonight. We are going to be talking tequila. ⁓ ⁓ back and buckle into the latest episode of Thursday Thoughts. So we're to be talking about one of the most beautiful bottles I've seen in a very long time ⁓ and going to be speaking some Spanish. Pezuna Blanca the Respodo which you just saw in this terracotta, ⁓ the and the Just beautiful, beautiful bottles. ⁓ So we are These are celebrating the Chinese astrology 60 in the making here. So it's year of massive energy, momentum, and most importantly, prosperity. So when you look ⁓ spirit to toast the season, I couldn't ignore the story behind the brand ⁓ or Pezuna Blanca. name White Hoof inspired by the Mexican legend that a horse marked with a single White Hoof brings strength, balance, and incredible fortune. So in a year the gifting or sharing this bottle. kind of makes a great connection. So let me tell you a little bit about this brand. Beyond the luck, the craftsmanship is here and it's legit. So it's coming out of NAM 1480 Tequila Las Americas the Amashan ⁓ Again, don't speak Spanish, doing my best here, but ⁓ really thing about this is ⁓ it just comes together with the story of the Year of the Horse and the White Hoof. So they actually use horses in the agave fields to manage their soil. It's low impact, organic, Practices that respects the land the bottles themselves are gorgeous like I mentioned like who wouldn't want this on the back bar They're absolutely stunning are made of heavy earthware inspired ceramic that feels like a piece of art behind your bar ⁓ ⁓ perfect ⁓ It's time to dive into the Blanco ⁓ comes in at 80 proof beautiful bottle. Again, my wife has wanted to decorate these ⁓ just got them, so they are going to go upstairs ⁓ and we'll be diving into this tequila blanco first. I don't drink a ton of tequila, so I'm excited to talk a little bit about this, right? Because it is Thursday Thoughts. I'm giving you a thought on something that I find interesting. And I can tell you I'm far away already, and this just has a wonderful nose. there is ⁓ the agave, which is citrusy. a lot of lime forward notes here. Vanilla. Just a touch, a little bit of hint of smokiness there. it's so sweet and delicate. just, it smells ⁓ And our Steve Coombs will always say, Blanco Tequila is best representation of tequila because ⁓ it's a very spirit. So, let's dive in. that 80 proof. super simple to drink, very ⁓ I the peppery note that it has in there, ⁓ the peel and it's crisp. ⁓ The notes the press release talk about the minerality of ⁓ the in which the agave is harvested from. And they also with the peppery finish and they say word smooth, but it is just easy drinking Blanco tequila. ⁓ I do prefer tequila ice, but for this, I'm just gonna sip it neat ⁓ just to get a understanding. This is a no additive, 100 % organic, spirit. ⁓ as my guy Wayne says, he's always about finding brands that are additive free, that are doing things the right way, that are taking things the next step. ⁓ So a big deal. Now, ⁓ really to think about... where you are on your own tequila journey. Blanco's a very clear spirit, it's very clean, it's very crisp, and then you add the Añejo, which is lightly rested in a barrel for a certain period of time. If you are looking for kind of more of a breakdown on respasado or... and Anjeo any of those things, you can actually go find this ⁓ our first Thursday Thoughts episode ever that we did with Tequila Partita, which of set me off on a fun ⁓ Thursday back in summer of 2025. And so ⁓ getting ready spring and summer here in the great state of Kentucky, ⁓ tequila will in the rotation along with bourbon. ⁓ So ⁓ tequila Raspasado again 100 % de agave 80 proof do like this little balance more vanilla flavors kind of come through a little bit of caramel of the citrusy note more of the peppery note on the nose ⁓ I think it adds just a little bit of complexity the palette. The vanilla really start to shine ⁓ through. are really, really good pours The best thing you can say is it's clean. It tastes clean, it drinks clean. when you have a clear spirit, I don't know, our aspasado is not necessarily clear, ⁓ been finished. ⁓ when you have a clear spirit, that's what you're looking for. You're looking for cleanliness. Does have peaks and valleys ⁓ or sharp This one's really nice and rounded. And I think it just provides a really enjoyable and comfortable approach to sipping tequila neat. So if you are looking for these to celebrate the new year or tequila a little bit of soul and a backstory, Pezuna or the Raspasado are both beautiful and they are available nationwide on Reserve Bar. And so we will catch you next time here on Thursday Thoughts. We hope you enjoyed this content ⁓ Cheers.
