tan: All right, welcome back to another episode of the brains, the beauty and the funny one. Kenz: Hello everybody! tan: Welcome back for your weekly catch up with us. Jens: WAAAHAAAAT! tan: No. You Kenz: That's not coming back, we're not doing that, no. Jens: I do that once a week at work at least tan: Haha While you're massaging someone? Kenz: How's it reciprocated typically? Jens: To my coworker he's in his 50s so he loves it. tan: That's funny. Kenz: Yeah, that's fair. That's good demographic. Jens: He would be so mad if he heard grandpa from you. If what? If he heard you call him grandpa. I said demographic. ⁓ demographic. I said that's a good demographic. I need to turn up this. Okay there, now I can hear. I didn't call him that. Yeah. tan: I'm a- Kenz: If what? I said demographic. tan: Yeah. She did not say Graham. Kenz: That's a good demographic. I didn't say grandpa. tan: The grandpa. You actually called him grandpa, so now he's gonna be mad at you. Kenz: Yeah. Yeah, it wasn't my fault. Jens: Yeah. tan: Okay, let's kick things off with some trivia. Kenz: Okay. Jens: Okay. Let's do it. tan: We're gonna do a 13 going on 30 because I am turning 30 this year and I saw this video and I think I sent it to you guys. It was like. Jens: 29 tan: Uh, did you see that one? It was like a 13 going on 31. Kenz: Can you be more specific, please? tan: Like where she blows out the candles, but she was like, yeah. Jens: ⁓ yeah, like the party? Like doing the things for... tan: 30 flirty and thriving. Kenz: Yes. Jens: You want to do that? Is that what you're telling us? tan: But anyways, yeah, I said we should do this. gonna kick this off. Jens: All right. Have to go like this. ⁓ tan: What year is it when Jenna turns 13? ⁓ wow. That was pretty good, quick. Kenz: 1987. Jens: ⁓ Kenz: Thriller, thriller guys, thriller. tan: ⁓ yeah, okay, gotcha. What candy does Matt, Maddie Flamhalf give Jenna for her birthday? Jens: Cause this is Thriller! Kenz: Pop rockets? Jens: It's in a tube, I think. Like a mento type? Like a mento type candy. I don't know, but it's like in that tin foil with the name on the outside. tan: I think it's like that, but it's different. No, ⁓ yeah, yeah. But what are they called? Kenz: Pah. Jens: Rockets. Razzles. As soon as you said the Zed in that, I was like, you're thinking the wrong thing. It's like Pop Rocks. Kenz: Rockets. Razzle. You're saying, you're thinking the wrong thing. It's like Pop Rocks. Like the... Jens: was an ASMR. tan: We're gonna have to look that up because I'm not thousand percent sure. But yeah, I was thinking like Pop Rocks, but not. They're verazles, yeah. Kenz: ASMR. Yeah. Yeah, and Jensen's trying to describe sweet tarts. Jens: It's a mare it's an American. I was describing Mentos. tan: We'll look it up and we'll figure it out. Kenz: Same shit, different bile. tan: Okay, what is the name of the popular clique 13 year old Jenna wants to join? Kenz: I do not remember. Jens: They have a name? tan: Yeah. Jens: Or the name of a person. I was going to say the Ashley's, but that's from Recess. It is from Recess, yeah. Kenz: I was gonna say the Ashley's, but that's from Recess. tan: No, like the clique they want to join. The six chicks. The six chicks. Kenz: Six, seven. Jens: Six, seven. I did not pay enough attention to that movie to remember that then. Kenz: Yeah, me either. tan: What magazine does 30 year old Jenna work for? kenz: beauty and funny? we can't have it all. Thanks for listening to this episode. If you would like to help support our podcast, please share it with others, post about it on social media. Jens: I can see it. Is it flair? Thanks again, and we'll see you next time. tan: starts with a P. Jens: Hush. tan: when someone is very put together. Jens: Pois, pois. tan: Yes, there you go. Woo woo. It caught there. It got there. Kenz: Good job. Good job. Jens: Good job. Good job. I got there. Just give me a minute. Keep giving me hints and I'll finally get there. Kenz: I got this, give me a minute, you keep giving me hints, I'll finally get this. tan: Once you're in the last letter, you'll get there. Jens: Yeah, exactly. tan: ⁓ What is the name of the game Jenna plays at her 13th birthday slumber party? Jens: Spin the bottle, isn't it? Kenz: Isn't that 7 minutes in heaven? tan: It is. Jens: Why don't they do both? tan: No, because remember the house falls on her head? Jens: Alright. tan: ⁓ yeah. What does 13 year old Jenna tell Maddie she wants to be when she grows up? Jens: flirty and thriving. tan: Yeah. Did you get that? Because I just said that. Okay. Jens: No, I knew that. She was 30 flirty thriving. 30 flirty thriving. Kenz: And then that's all she does while she's like having a meltdown. tan: Alright, last question. What does 30 year old Jenna suggest playing when Alex Carlson tries to seduce her? Jens: ⁓ battle shit. tan: Yeah. Kenz: I was like spin the bottle tan: The hockey player. Jens: He thought that was code for something else. Kenz: You tan: Yes, I gotta watch that movie again. It's been forever. ⁓ yeah. Jens: And she's like, ew, what are you doing? Because she's 13 in the body of a 30 year old. Kenz: Right, right, right. Let's play Battletip. Jens: You sunk my battles! Kenz: haha tan: But yeah, that's it. Jens: Nice. Good job, Tanya. Really carrying the podcast this week and we appreciate you. Kenz: That was a nice little trivia. That was good. tan: I was gonna say, someone's gotta be prepared in this relationship and apparently it's me. Jens: You're on a path right now and I like it and I need it because I'm not. Kenz: Okay. and I need it. You're on a heater. I like it. Jens: It's a give and take relationship and you're giving it and I'm just taking it right now. Kenz: And I'm just here floating in the middle. Jens: Kenzie's editor-ing. tan: Yeah, well you're editing so that, but she also won't let us help her with that. So. Jens: True. True that. Kenz: Mm-hmm. Well, it's hard. It would be very hard to be like, okay, this is where I left off, so you take over and you know what I mean? Like, it just wouldn't work. tan: Oldest Child Syndrome. Or you just don't like to let go of control. Jens: D- tan: For the listeners out there, Kenzie shrugged her shoulders and smiled. Jens: shrugged her shoulders. Kenz: Actually, I believe Jens: Wasn't a smile, it was like an eye roll smirk. tan: A smirk and I roll. Kenz: There you go, yeah. I believe by definition that is a smirk. tan: Yeah, well, your face is kind of blurry, so I couldn't see what your facial expression was. ⁓ Jens: I can't see your face either. I'm ducking under the thing. tan: should we get to the nitty gritty of this conversation? Kenz: Yes. Jens: Yes. Yes. We are posing a question. Again. Kenz: We are posing a question. Again. tan: So I'll, yes. Is confidence a feeling? What do you guys believe? Is it a feeling? Jens: Ahem. Kenz: Alright. Jens: What a really good question, Tannis. You know, I... tan: It's honestly been on my heart for like the last, I don't know, probably like month. No, no, like just like that question because it is, in a sense it is, but I feel like it's more of a practice because like, let's just say like a sport, the more you practice something, the more you feel confident doing it. Jens: Alright, give it to us then. Mm-hmm. tan: But so it's like kind of a feeling, but it's also like a practice. Jens: When you get to the point where you do feel confident doing it because you've prepared and done so much, then yes, it's a feeling because you're ready for it. Whereas at the beginning, you might not feel confident, you're just doing it because you want to. tan: Yeah. Kenz: I feel like confidence is kind of more of a state of mind that you can like step into and out of. So like some days I wake up feeling way more confident than I have any right to be and other days the confidence is not there. And I think that it's like ⁓ a state of mind type thing. So I have to work really hard sometimes to like step back into that state of mind. tan: Yeah. Yep. Yep. I get that. And also being a woman where our bodies are changing daily, no matter what, if you stay on the same diet or whatever, your body is constantly changing and you're bloating and... Kenz: Yeah. Yeah, for sure. Jens: Yeah, for sure. Absolutely. tan: at any stage you are in your monthly cycle. Yeah. Jens: Yep. Yeah, no, like I just believe that it's also a practice too. So like you in your head, you can talk yourself up. Kenz: Mm-hmm. Yeah. But yeah, no, like I just firmly believe that it's also a practice too. So like you in your head you can talk yourself up RuPaul talks about the inner saboteur all the time and how like that bitch doesn't pay your bills literally. Yeah, that bitch doesn't pay your bills doesn't get a say so you need to tan: Yeah. needs to sit down and shut up. Kenz: learn how to control or talk back to your inner saboteur in a way. And I feel like that has a lot to do with confidence as well because once you can tell your inner saboteur or your inner voice or the mean girl in your head that no no no that's not what's real. then that's when you have the chance to like step into that confidence. Jens: or your inner voice or the mean girl in your head, that no, no, no, that's not what's real. Then that's when you have the chance to like step into that confidence. Yeah, absolutely. tan: Yeah, I would agree with that. It's just hard some days. Kenz: Definitely. Jens: Mm-hmm. tan: The mental battle of that is not for the faint of heart. Kenz: No, for sure not. tan: But even when you say that, it's the practice of changing the little things daily, right? Jens: Yeah, no. Yeah, it doesn't just come all at once. You have to literally take it day by day, minute by minute sometimes. Kenz: Yep. tan: Yeah. Kenz: Yeah, yeah. tan: Like we've been doing this for what, 34 years for you, 32, 30 years, and we're still not perfect at telling ourselves that, right? Like. Jens: Mm-hmm. ⁓ Kenz: Mm-hmm. ⁓ heck no. There's some days that that inner inner bitch wins and it is what it is. But like there's, you know, because I like to wear high waisted pants and crop tops and whatever. And so there's some people that will say to me, I wish I had your confidence. But depending on who that comment comes from, it can either be kind of backhanded or it can mean the world. Right. tan: ⁓ yeah. Jens: some days that that inner inner bitch wins. And it is what it is. Yes, like there's you know, because I like to wear high waisted pants and crop tops and whatever. And so there's some people that will say to me, I wish I had your confidence. But depending on who that comment comes from, it can either be kind of backhanded or it can mean the world. So it's like tan: Yeah. Kenz: So it's like, if it's coming from someone that means the world to me, I just want to boost them up and say, just fucking wear the shirt, right? Jens: If it's coming from someone that means the world to me, I just want to boost them up and say, just fucking wear the shirt. Right? Yeah, nobody cares but you. Yeah. But if it's coming from somebody that I think it's like kind of backhanded, then I want to backhand a Get physical. Yeah, very that. Kenz: Yeah, but if it's coming from somebody that I think it's like kind of backhanded, then I want to backhand a bitch. tan: Mm-hmm. Kenz: Yeah, very that. tan: what is one thing in your life that you feel where you've lacked confidence, but wish that it would have been better? Kenz: I, because I'm autistic, I struggle with like basic conversation. like, sitting down or like, like small talk is so hard for me. And for such a long time, I thought that I was just fucking weird and I couldn't do it. Like it's such a struggle. I have to think like, okay, ask them how they are, ask them this. Then it's like, I'm not really listening to what they're saying because I'm trying to think of the next thing to say. tan: Yeah. Kenz: So it's like, yeah, and then I make it awkward. tan: Yeah, to make it not awkward. Jens: So it's like, yeah, and then I make it awkward. No. ⁓ tan: I feel that though, I'm the same way I think, because I just like hate small talk and I'd rather get into like deeper conversations if I'm going to talk, you know? Jens: So it's... Kenz: Yeah, me too. But I'm also a hard cookie to crack because it's like, if I don't trust you, I'm not opening up. Jens: Yeah, me too. But I'm also a hard cookie to crack because it's like, if I don't trust you, I'm not opening up. tan: no. Yeah. Kenz: yeah, that's something I struggle with confidence wise is like, I feel like I come across as pretty social, but that like, it's a lot of mental in background for me. Jens: Non-stop. That's the thing I struggle with confidence-wise is like, feel like I come across as pretty social, but that like, it's a lot of- It's a mental game. ... mental background for me. Preparation. Absolutely. Yeah, it is. tan: Yeah, which is exhausting. And what about you gents? Jens: I don't even know. I could tell you what I'm confident in. My work. I love what I do and I feel confident that I can at least try and help everybody that comes through the door in some form or another. tan: Sure. Kenz: Do it. tan: Yeah. So let's go back to day one of you becoming a massage therapist. Did you feel confident then? Jens: No, no, but the nice thing is, is that you get right into it. So you know by that first semester, if you're one, liking it and like doing it, or yeah, if it's for you and you feel like you can grow in confidence. tan: So. whether it's for you. Kenz: Mm-hmm. Jens: Yeah. tan: Yeah, so that's what I mean. It's very much a practice. Jens: Yeah, yeah, doesn't just, it doesn't just pop up. It starts from a little seed and it grows. You have to nurture it. tan: Yeah. Jens: and learn continuous learning along the way too, right? Oh, for sure. Yeah, you'll have setbacks, of course. But what is life without a setback? Because then you don't learn from anything. tan: Sometimes you'll almost kill it. Like any plant. Kenz: Very true. tan: And sometimes you just gotta do it scared and the confidence will come. Jens: Yeah, back to our previous episode. Kenz: Ooh, bringing it back to last episode. tan: two episodes ago. Jens: two episodes ago are. Kenz: Yes. What about you, T? tan: I would probably say like motherhood because I was so young going into it. just like, honestly, I just kind of went with it. Like I was rolling with it. And like when I became a mom with Lucas, it was 2017 and social media wasn't what it is today. We're like, Jens: Hmm. Yep. tan: You couldn't just scroll on stories and like see all these people doing stuff in real life. It was just starting at that point. Jens: Yeah, it was more like posts, like just pictures and stuff. tan: which I'm, yeah, which I'm actually very thankful for because I feel like if it would have been that, I would have been like, I don't know what the F I'm doing, where I just had to figure it out and practice that and become more confident that when Everly came around, it was like, all right, I got this. That's one that's really sticking out with me. Jens: There's a lot of information. Spiraling yet Yeah, that first kid is. Yeah, the firstborn is... Because you just have no fucking idea. tan: Well, you're, you're learning, you're learning, they're learning. It's all learning. Jens: Yep. You're learning together. Kenz: Mm-hmm. tan: Yeah. Jens: And then it just feels very simple at the beginning with the second and then they get their own personality. Kenz: They get their own personality. ⁓ tan: And this one I'm still practicing to this day is being confident in my body. Jens: Mm-hmm. Yeah, that's like an everyday. tan: because like I said, I've been doing it for like almost 30 years now and we're still rolling with the punches every day of my mind and figuring it out. Yeah, we're here. Kenz: So I can have presenting. Jens: Yeah, we're here. We're here though. And you're continuing, continuously growing with confidence. tan: Yeah, even when we started this podcast, I was like, I really don't like my voice. Like at all. Kenz: Yeah, we're here. We're here though. And you're continuously growing with profit. Yeah. Jens: Yeah, when you just like were like more shy and like put off to and didn't say a lot at the beginning or was just like, mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. But now you now you're chatting. tan: Yeah. Well that's cause you guys were like, you guys were all excited for it and I feel like you guys have slowed down a little right now. Jens: Yeah. Why is that? tan: And so now I'm like, I gotta do this. Jens: I've got zero brain power right now. So thank you. Thanks for stepping up, Tan. Kenz: I'm Tana's is picking up the chip. tan: Haha. I'll pick up the garbage, it's fine. There's a Mighty Ducks reference for you. Jens: Not the garbage. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Kenz: The garbage? Ha! Jens: I garbage is a little harsh. I have not seen that movie in a real long time. tan: That would be a good trivia too, Mighty Duck. Kenz: Such a good movie. tan: I love those movies. They're so good. Kenz: Me too. Jens: I should watch out with the girls. tan: Is there anything you guys like to add on the confidence if it's a feeling or not? Jens: I feel like it's like in little ⁓ steps or like small things each So you just build and build and build, even if it's that one thing. tan: Is there any advice you'd to give to our listeners about like things to make you feel confident and things that have helped you guys in any way? Jens: Like you said at the beginning, just practice if you're really passionate about something or whatever. Just keep building and building upon it and eventually you will, it will just not be easy, but it'll be a lot more simple. Like second nature. Yeah. Kenz: Like second nature. Jens: And then you're at that confidence level. And if you like say slip a little bit, or you aren't doing it one week, even with this podcast, we've missed it. We miss a couple of weeks of recording because we had things going on, but yet we came back and we're still confidently chatting. even though maybe it was easy to just be ⁓ yeah, let's just push it back ⁓ to another week. ⁓ came back. Kenz: to another week. We came back. Yeah. One- tan: You know what song popped into my head when you started speaking? Jens: ⁓ shit. ⁓ tan: I get knocked down, but I get up again. You're never gonna get me down. Jens: Hahaha! Kenz: But I could have to get ⁓ some tub thumping hey Jens: something, hey? Pub Thumpin'. Kenz: what it's called by Chumbawamba. tan: Is that what it's called, that song? Jens: chumbawumba. Tub thumping? Yeah. Yeah. Huh. Yeah. Are those words spoken in that song? Not a clue. Huh. Kenz: Yeah. Yeah. tan: That's what it's called. I did not know that. Kenz: Yeah. tan: What? Kenz: Not a clue. tan: I only know the chorus. Kenz: Yeah. Jens: Very interesting. tan: That is interesting. I had no idea. Kenz: But I think that my biggest advice is that a lot of people didn't succeed until they were in their mid 30s, 40s. Yeah. Jens: I think that my biggest advice is that a lot of people didn't succeed until they were in their mid 30s, 40s. Midlife, essentially. tan: A lot of people didn't start till they were in their 30s, 40s. Kenz: Well, that's what I mean. Like even if you look at somebody like my favorite author, Sarah J. Maas, she started writing when she was in middle school. She didn't get published until she was in her late twenties, her first book. And she's now in New York Times bestselling author, Times like 12 books or 15 books or something. But like it was a long ways for her. And there's a lot of tan: Yeah. Wow. Jens: Well, that's what I mean. Like, even if you look at somebody like my favorite author, Sarah J. Maas, she started writing when she was in middle school. She didn't get published until she was in her late twenties, her first book. And she's now in New York Times bestselling author, Times like 12 books or 50 books or something. But like, it was a long ways for her. A long journey. tan: Yeah. Kenz: people that have that same story. Just because you can't succeed in the first thing that you try doesn't mean you're not going to be successful. Jens: people that have that same story. Just because you can't succeed in the first thing that you try doesn't mean you're not going to be successful. that you're not good at that. It just wasn't for that specific person. have to find the people or the person that correlates with what you're doing. Yeah. Find your circle. Yeah. Kenz: Or will appreciate it. Very that. tan: Definitely, yeah. A good support system. Yeah. Also, it's a journey. It's the climb. Jens: Yes. Kenz: Life's a dance. Jens: ⁓ could like do a whole shoosh of songs. tan: All these songs keep like popping in my head when you guys are speaking. Kenz: Sometimes. Jens: can almost see it. tan: Okay. This is Jensen's official audition tape for Canadian Idol or whatever. Jens: If it's meant to be, it'll be, it'll be, baby just... Kenz: If it's meant to be, it'll be, it'll be, baby just let it be. 100%. It's still my anthem. tan: That was David and I's anthem in 2021. Jens: It's still my anthem. Why in 2021? tan: when we bought our house. Jens: dude, it's my anthem right now. I keep having like panic anxiety attacks and I'm like, no one's ever going to buy this house. I guess we'll just have to take this out, this out and finish it. I'm like, it's been three days, Jensen, calm down. Kenz: That's what I sang you the other day. tan: If it's meant to be, it'll be, it'll be, baby, just let it be. It is so hard to just let it be, but sometimes you just have to let it be. Jens: Baby just let it be Kenz: Baby just let it be Yeah. Yeah, I'm. Jens: Yeah, I'm the worst. I'm literally the worst at waiting. I need to know things. Kenz: Mm-hmm. it's completely out of your control, so it makes it very hard. tan: Yeah, that's your personality. Jens: out of your control so it makes it very hard. Yes, extremely. tan: What? You? Out of control? What do you mean? Kenz: Mm-hmm Jens: Any other things to say about the confidence point? Kenz: Any other things to say about the confidence point? tan: No, you guys kind of said it all and just like practice little things every day. Like speak nice to yourself. Jens: Yeah. I don't know if this is confidence or not. I don't know if this is considered like confidence. I guess we can discuss it. ⁓ me ⁓ all this stuff going on with our house, like me asking for help with my, like just cleaning my house, right? I like never, ⁓ never done that before. And like, yes, I probably needed it and probably needed to do it earlier on, but I've kept my house clean this week. because it's easy to do once it's done. Like, it's so crazy and putting the kids to bed this week has been so easy because I'm not full of anxiety of being like, I need to go do this after you're sleeping. Nothing needs to be done because it was done before we go to bed. Like, it's easy to put dishes in. I don't know if that's confidence or not, but having the confidence to ask for help, maybe. tan: would say that's probably more like pride and embarrassment almost in a way. Yeah, just because like you don't want to ask for help. So yeah. Jens: Yeah, pride, pride, pride, pride. Kenz: Yeah. Yep. Agreed. Jens: Yeah, no for sure and embarrassment for sure too, but I we we have a really amazing village a lot of people took my kids so we could get shite done and a lot of people came over to help me not be panicked Yeah, but more hands and just like the time without Kenz: Well, you had a really, really tight crunch line too, so more hands, right? Jens: the little tornadoes behind you. tan: For everyone that doesn't know, Jensen is in the process of selling her house. Jens: Yes, we did it. We put our house on the market. Yes, just having it clean and then all the showings and whatnot. we've been able to do it and Frankie has been amazing. Actually, this is kind of going on a tangent line, but she's been amazing. She was playing with her dolls this morning. I was like, OK, we got to go. We got to go to school. And she put them away in the box and away in the toy thing. tan: That is what she's talking about, getting it ready. It's amazing what a clean house does for mental health. So, yeah. Kenz: I'm just. I was just gonna say that, but also it's amazing what a clean house does for a neurodivergent family. Jens: Absolutely. Yeah. Well, yeah, it was, was literally. tan: Yeah. Well, just because, yeah, like I find when my house is messy, that's when my brain is the messiest. Jens: Mm-hmm. Yeah, but it's like it's a terrible cycle too because it's like sometimes when you feel like you're out of control you could care Yeah, but then it's all of a sudden a switch flips and then you go yeah psycho What the fuck is going on in this house right now? can't live here. I'm gonna die in this house. You know what I mean like it's like This master claustrophobic almost Kenz: Yeah, but it's like a it's a terrible cycle too because it's like sometimes when you feel like you're out of control, you could care less about what is happening in your house. But then it's like all of a sudden a switch flips and then you're like. What the fuck is going on in this house right now? I can't live here. I'm going to die in this house. You know what I mean? Like it's like this mess or this. It's gonna kill me. Like it's like and then yeah and then the hyper focus turns on. tan: Yeah. Jens: Yes, and then you go ham and then this is what happens Yes, and then so this weekend my grandma was in the kitchen doing stuff for me and she's like, okay Go put this away and I would go put it away and then I would see something I need to do in another room and then I'd start doing that and then I come back downstairs and there's a pile of stuff for me to do deal with and I was like see grandma I told you this is why my house is never clean because I go do this and then I go do this and then I go do this and nothing ever gets completed. tan: ADHD! Kenz: So Dakota and I have come up with a system for when we're organizing and cleaning up. Yeah. tan: Squirrely. Jens: Squirrel. Kenz: ⁓ when I learned, we learned it on tick-tock. It's like we, if, for example, if we are cleaning, say the game room, we'll bring a laundry basket into the game room and then anything that doesn't belong in the game room, we'll put in the laundry basket. We will not leave the game room. And then when. Jens: We learned it on TikTok. What? It's like, for example, if we are cleaning, say, the game room, we'll bring a laundry basket into the game room and then anything that doesn't belong in the game room, we'll put in the laundry basket. ⁓ small. Leave the game room. then. So you're not walking away, putting that away and then seeing, ⁓ I got to wash the dishes or something. Yeah. tan: That's smart actually, so then you don't get distracted. Kenz: Yeah, getting distracted. Yeah. And if you know that you're going to have multiple things or multiple rooms, then you can bring multiple boxes or laundry baskets or whatever. So like this goes to the kitchen, this goes to the bedroom. Yeah. So that's kind of our hack. Jens: Smart. tan: That makes sense. That's very smart. Jens: smart. There you go guys. A little hack for your lives. Excellent! Anything else you guys got up to over the weekend? Kenz: No. tan: Was it this week? ⁓ yeah. Well, Lucas finished his last year of U9 hockey and then for their team wind up, we went to a Calgary rough next game. He's gonna be nine. Yeah. Kenz: You went to a rough next game? Jens: Next game. Wow. Is he gonna be 9 this year or 10? ⁓ Kenz: Okay first of all, can we just take a minute? This has always drove me crazy. Why the hell is it called a wind up and not a wind down? Jens: you're winding up the season. tan: Cause you're winding up, woo! Cause like, Kenzie, fishing, you wind it. You gotta wind that rope back up. Jens: You're having a party. Kenz: You're not winding it up, you're winding it down. I will never be convinced that this is the right verbiage. Jens: I will never be convinced that this is the right I think I've asked that too. tan: Do you know what I mean? Like you're winding up the rope. You're winding up the team. Kenz: Yeah, but why are you winding them up at the end of the season? Jens: Yeah, but why are you winding them up at the end of the season? As you're doing that, I'm going like this with you. tan: You're reeling them back in! Jens: Reel up party then. Again, you will never convince me this is the right verb, bitch. It has always driven me crazy. And I will die on this hill. All right, let's break it up, you two. We don't need another whitefish moment here. Callous bell moment. Kenz: Again, you will never convince me this is the right verbiage. It has always driven me crazy. I will die on this hill. tan: Okay, anyways... Anyways. We had his wind up party, or not part, it wasn't really a party. We went to the Roughnecks game and it was so much fun. I highly suggest going to a Roughnecks game. is, oh yeah, like they score and they play this song. It's like, bang, bang, bang, bang. Vamanos, Vamanos. Jens: Wind up a vent. Yeah, you said Everly was in it the whole time and you know what usually is? tan: And like, Everly was jumping off her seats, doing the arm movements and clapping along. All the hockey kids had their shirts off, whipping them around. I was definitely in the danger zone for that one, getting whipped in the head. Jens: That's awesome. ⁓ Kenz: That's amazing. Hehehehe Jens: That's so fun. Little eight year olds. tan: ⁓ there's like constant music playing the entire game. Jens: ⁓ so it's just like a party. This is a good time. tan: Yeah, and then during the halftime show, there's a band that plays and the cheerleaders dance with the mascot and it's honestly so much fun. Jens: Nice. There's always something to look at. tan: I don't know if it was because of St. Patrick's Day that it was so much fun, but... Jens: No, it probably is usually like that. Kira and Bryce take their kids fairly often, not all the time, but Lily even enjoys it and usually she's like, doesn't care. But because of the cheerleaders, she likes watching the cheerleaders. She should be in cheerleading. Kira? She's kidding. Kenz: Kira and Bryce take their kids fairly often, not all the time, but ⁓ even enjoys it and usually she's like, care. But because of the cheerleaders, she likes watching the cheerleaders. tan: Yeah, hockey games? Hockey kids, hockey games are very boring for Everly. Like she gets bored at them. But this game was like, yeah, she was very into it. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, so fun. So highly recommend going to a Roughnecks game. Jens: Yeah, I feel that girl. There is always something to do. Always somebody hyping you up. Kenz: No waste. Jens: That's awesome. You went to the homemade garden show. ⁓ You went to the homemade garden. Lacrosse. The other national Canadian sport. The first. Kenz: For people that don't know, Roughnecks is lacrosse, by the way. tan: ⁓ yeah, it's a national. Kenz: the other national Canadian sport. tan: Yeah. I don't know about that. Kenz: I think technically we have two. Jens: think technically we have two. The first one. Kenz: have no idea. tan: Anyways, yes, low cross. Kenz: Yes, I went to the Home and Garden show. It was fun. I talked to lots of vendors about random things. It was huge. There was over 2,500 vendors there. Jens: Yes, I went to the Home and Garden show. It was fun. I talked to lots of vendors about random things. It was big this year. People are saying. There's over 2,500 vendors there. Geez. And I came home with mostly food. Nice. Love it. Perfect. Yeah, perfect. tan: Wow. Kenz: And I came home with mostly food. tan: That's good though, support local. What kind of food? Kenz: I got like, well, okay, so the Home and Garden show was in the big part of the expo building, whatever it's called. And then the domesticated divas spring event was in one of the littler rooms and it didn't have paid entry this time. So Thomas and I were like, yeah, sure, let's go. Yeah, on our way out. So we went through there and we got like these like Jens: Like, well, okay, so the Home and Garden show was in the big part of the expo building, whatever it's called. And then the domesticated divas spring event. ⁓ was also there. in one of the Littler rooms. And it didn't have paid entry this time, so Thomas and I were like, yeah, sure, let's go. Might as well. Yeah, on our way out. So we went through there and we got like these like, homemade. tan: Okay Kenz: homemade pretzels. Holy man, they're so good. And then I got these things called brinannies. So it's like, like a big thing, like about that big. And it's the bottom part of it is brownie. And then it's filled to the top with banana bread and then baked together. So they're not mixed, but it's like Jens: ⁓ they're so good. And then I got these things called brinannis. So it's like a big thing, like about that big. And it's the bottom part of it is brownie. And then it's filled to the top with banana bread and then baked together. Excuse me. So they're not mixed, but it's like it's like a sandwich. tan: Mmmmm Kenz: Kind of, but they're baked together. I don't know. But they are life-changing. They're so good. And I'm not a sweets person, yeah, pretty good. And then we got some sausage. Honey, garlic, dill. Jens: Do you any left? I'll be trying it after this. Mmm. Yeah, and there you like them. Stick. Nice. Mmm. tan: That's a yes. Ooh, that would be good. Did you try them yet? Kenz: Yes, they're so good. Jens: Yes, they're so good. That's awesome. tan: When you say sausage, do you mean like pepperoni sticks or do mean like actual sausage? Kenz: No, like the big like cook it, eat it with pierogies or whatever sausage. Yeah. Yeah, it was delicious. Yeah. Any social media highlights this week? Jens: No, like the big like cook it, eat it with pierogies or whatever. Yum. Yeah, was delicious. Yeah. Sounds fabulous. Nice. tan: Cook it, yeah. ⁓ yeah, that would be good. ⁓ me posting every day. Just joking. Jens: I forget the one. Kenz: Yes, definitely. Excellent work. I saw that Ryan Gosling is on New Heights. I haven't listened to it yet, but might have to check that one out. Jens: Yeah. I saw that Ryan Gosling is on New Heights. Yeah. haven't listened to it yet, but. I'm gonna listen. tan: ⁓ yeah, I saw that. Six foot one. Jens: I did not know that he was that tall. We should start introducing our guests like that. Trent! Alright, I'll start doing that. Kenz: We should start introducing our guests like that. tan: I think Jensen should do that. Kenz: Definitely. tan: Thanks for joining us today and hanging with us through our sister talk. Jens: thanks for listening guys, we'll catch you next time! ⁓ Kenz: Peace and love!
