Tamara And Lynde: Hey besties, welcome back to Business with my Bestie. I'm Lynde Tamara. And going to talk about spring. All the things. Now we're into March. we are... My gosh. know. Yeah, so we're into and spring is, you know, it's like of those in like a lion out like Lamb. I think it's the opposite this year. It's like, a little nervous that March, of March, maybe spring, we might getting dumped on, but at the moment, seems quite nice ⁓ now and springy. Don't jinx it. Yeah, so I mean, all of the... Sun's staying up longer and you know daylight savings is just around the corner. I know like yeah. He had practice last night and I was like, you want to walk to practice? Like I can get my walking. And so we took a little, I walked down to practice. So nice cause it's still light out and then I won't get hit by a car. Yeah, that's awesome. And we had wrestling practice and my two olders were like, Hey, once we dropped Stockton off, can we go get ice cream? And I was like, well, only if we run there. And so we parked the car and we ran to the ice cream and then we walked back while they were eating their ice cream and it was so nice and just so you know it's exactly one mile from the fairgrounds to the ice cream shop on Main. Oh okay. I mean there in back. Perfect. So you can get that in if you need to go ice creaming. Yeah because when I walked Rikki to practice and then back home I had to take like an extra little loop to get my full body. Yeah. But I made it work. How is your mile stuff going? I've done it every day. So far so good. Way to go. Doing good. in for today. Love it. Me and Tucker took Reg and the dogs for a walk this morning. Tank even walked a mile today. So he did pretty good for old old man. that was good. Good. So so far so good. I need everybody to keep me accountable to make sure that I stick with it. That's good. I'm proud of you. How many days has it been? I have no idea. Oh a week because is it Wednesday? you just What day is week I said? started on Ash Wednesday yeah yeah anyways and I was even telling Ricky I was like it'll be great at Makoshika because the hotel we're staying in has a gym so I could go walk on the treadmill also the episode you had your first calf have you only had one? How many have you gotten It's been a week yes still only had one. Oh actually there's one mom out there that I'm pretty sure she's just had this calf hiding she hasn't brought it up to the feed ground yet and so yeah no we're right getting started it's getting out there and I was a little worried because it's supposed to rain the other day and then freeze at night and that is ⁓ a good combination when you're dumping wet ⁓ on the ground so it's a ⁓ iffy but no only got one so far and that one was the cutest little thing let me tell you what like running around this morning with its tail straight up in the air and just bucking around and in and out of like mom's legs and he is so cute. Speaking of like baby animals, you seen this monkey that's at the zoo? ⁓ ⁓ our zoo? No, I don't even know where it's at, but there's this little baby monkey that like was bored and the mom like was like meh ⁓ didn't want anything to do it. ⁓ my god. So they gave it like a stuffed gorilla and this cute little monkey's like dragging its stuffed animal. It's so cute. there was like an article that said... and finally like gave it a hug. And this like stuffy that they gave it like now everybody wants this stuffy and now it's like sold out and like people are like reselling it on eBay to like make off it. are ridiculous. silly. do do spring cleaning? You know, I have getting the urge. ⁓ OK, I've been looking my children's room. at the toy area yeah like gonna to go right you know the other thing too ⁓ is mudroom it's just mean okay our mudroom ⁓ is a hallway honestly what it is ⁓ but right now ⁓ our mudroom Our room, cattle supply room, our has a freezer in it, has all our winter clothes in it. everything. It's like seven one. ⁓ Yeah, now. Plus like the dogs come in there. ⁓ yeah. It's our kennel. Yeah. It's ⁓ But mean, probably the used room our house. And right. And it is nice that like, ⁓ you go in there and the is right there. So that like if you guys are out like, ⁓ my god, what not. Exactly. I do love, the setup ⁓ that, but ⁓ always like a big spring cleaning area that... to get mopped out. Especially when you're ready to put pants away. Yeah, yeah. All the heavy stuff away. That is, yeah. we had a Ryland's ⁓ bedroom the basement, like on the wall, like his closet is part, but then on the other side, we did like a coat closet so that like we can take, you know, well, hopefully soon we can take all those winter coats ⁓ and like somewhere to put them. Yeah. So all the coats are just like, floating. Do you wash all of your winter I mean I should. I know I always think I should do that too but then we always end up just putting them on a hanger putting them away and then you find the $10 bill in the pocket. and I feel like you never know when you're supposed to put them away so they sit out like longer than they should just in case you're gonna need them. Yeah. And then finally you're like oh my god why is this stuff still out it's July. Yeah so you just finally shove it the closet for a month and a half and then you need So yeah, mean, it's not a regular... it definitely, as soon as spring kind of hits, you know, ⁓ is one of those things. We just start going everything. Well, we, I said, like to do stuff more like at the beginning of the year, like I rearranged bedrooms and got everything cleaned out and did all that because I feel like microphone's falling off, first of all. I feel like when it the weather nice. take this out that we want to be outside doing stuff. Yeah. we have a really hard time with like the indoor things. We don't need that. there go. And we're back. Yeah, I that's exactly what happens our house too is that everybody finally just explodes out the house. ⁓ Yeah, like even like indoor projects that we're like working on, ⁓ all of a sudden like put at a halt. guys were like, yeah. do this outside and that outside and just want to soak up as much weather as you can because you haven't been able to. know. Yeah, our garden stuff too. We're getting that all going right now. It's like, actually today it was the biggest ⁓ pain in butt because I had to try to get our tiller on the tractor it's ⁓ a three-point tractor you got to get every arm ⁓ in. certain point and you gotta get the PTO in I couldn't do it. I finally gave up. I was like, well I thought I was gonna till today but now I my husband to actually put thing together. So that'll coming and get the ground all worked up ready to some things under the grow lights right now ⁓ yes so I and ⁓ that's ⁓ one the things too that usually when February March hits I you we have frost date ⁓ we of go by frost date yeah and of course we have a but don't you need a new yeah that's no yeah that's yeah the cover got off-butt. Again. For like the 10th or 11th time maybe, I don't know. So yeah, we'll get that cover on and then we can get things planted out there like pretty soon, honestly. And then for all of our outdoor things outside of the greenhouse, we just go by the frost date and it's really easy to just work that back, you know? mean, even for anybody who's just planting anything in their garden, they can grab of the seeds count back from our Frost date get things going. know, they do it inside. If they want to I I've really taken into I mean we don't do a garden but like we have quite a few flower beds and flower pots and mean my pots I always put just flowers in but like my flower bed up front I'm trying to get it ⁓ to be stuff that will just reappear the next year. That's nice. Yeah, it's just like way easier. Yeah you still have areas that you need to fill? A few. dad often has things that he needs to transplant or thin out. Yeah, he just brings that over and plants it for me. Thanks. So that's great. ⁓ Yeah, great. What about... anything that you guys do for, you know, like, I don't know, in the winter time, we do a lot of slow cooker meals and stuff. Yeah. But like, especially with March and sports and things that are getting crazy and stuff. a lot of crock body last year in April because when the girls were in soccer, I don't remember, one of them played Monday, Wednesday, one played Tuesday, Thursday. So literally every night we were down at the soccer field. Yeah. And by the time you get done, you don't have time to cook a whole meal. So like unless we did that, was like a necessity. I like when you get into this busy season of things, it's always helpful to have things to in the crock pot or have things prepped ahead of time. Yeah, in bags or anything that's disposable even. Yeah. Yeah, especially with the that's just on the go. said even when it gets super light outside you don't want to come in dinner. Right? Like so you to have something that's super easy so no I think that... Meal prepping is gonna be on my agenda. I think that's a good idea. Maybe we should do it together. We should do like a mom meal prep deal. I went to a party one time. I don't even remember what this was for, but we made like 10 freezer meals and they were like all in Ziploc bags and it was all like, it's perfect. Dumped and baked stuff and it was great to have. Yeah, let's do it. Okay. Deal. My husband loves this time of year though, because he's like a griller. loves to Oh right, he finally get back out and do he loves to grill everything. You know what I am insisting on this year? Oh, what? Over the fire, like a open fire cooking. Okay. I'm going to get good at that. Okay. That's what we're going to do for branding this year. Oh, you guys are mixing it up every year. I know. Well, we have like enough help these days that when my mom first passed away, it was like I needed to do the in-house stuff and the out-in-the-curl stuff. And I was just always used to being out in the corral and to be out there it was my thing you know yeah cuz you're like mom loved being in the kitchen making all the food for stuff but like that's not your job. No it wasn't not like I appreciate what she did but I was like I they're gonna get it done if I'm not out in the grill that's just like I need ⁓ it's thing I need to be out there yeah and now got this we've done it enough years think you know we can get you all set up you guys can do ⁓ and want to get good at over the cooking so ⁓ we are set it up I ⁓ you've it you have not into Sarah Glover She is a chef. And she has all these cookbooks for over the fire cooking and she does, she like hosts events and she'll do weddings and she'll do all these things. She's amazing. Okay. I want to be exactly like her and I want to be her when I grow up. And so she'll do like whole animals. She'll do. veggies like super farm fresh meals and she starts with appetizers main meals she desserts over fire it and Jesse's gonna help me make of our over-the-fire structures we're gonna need to hang things and stuff. that's gonna on my list now this summer. I'm excited to witness all this. I know now we can have like an actual girls party cooking because I already prepped Jesse too. said I think ⁓ you're gonna to figure it out. out there because I'm do this. Okay. So, so think that'll be a lot of fun and I was actually thinking I need to reach out and get a photo. I yes. Well actually I had just went to college and my parents got a photographer for our branding and it's just like the coolest book to have and the memories to have and we always have so many people out there. Are you guys still writing over memorial things? Okay, I just need to put it on the camera. Yeah because that's when our family like they get out of school and they can come up and it works out perfect and there's been a couple of times where they're like, are we still doing it? I'm like, dude, when you come, we'll do it. Like whenever you can get up here, perfect. We'll make it work. So I'm excited that. I that'll be fun. Spring agenda is to figure out how to get good at that. Okay, you work on it work on that. You're gonna find a photographer. Mm-hmm. You have some in mind I mean Lauren Kluver I mean, I'd be shout out like to my head right away. Yes, sir Montana that's go-to girl so I'm gonna definitely reach out to her and We I mean there's like multiple great in our area. Yeah, so like I'm not worried she can do it it's okay right I know there's some out to it's always like Memorial Day though I feel bad. can make it and then you guys can all do like a family photo out there. We just never know what Tucker's gonna be doing. love to come serve. know we'll set up the concession stand. We have concession stands at our house specifically for branding. It literally the only time it gets used is for branding but the painted it and redid it. They put a lot of work into it. Yeah we've got the benches all set up around there. I think actually this year we're gonna move our chairs out there also so we've got some like round chairs and we'll have some concrete and everything. Then we can cook out back also and just have a big old party out there. No, can't wait! the spring atmosphere has just already got me super pumped for summertime. I know, like, well, it was nice today and all of sudden I was very worried about Easter. The tempers like, why are you so worried? I was like, I don't know. It just feels like it's like tomorrow or something. be here and now I get to a plan. Yeah, I know. I actually had to look it up too because I went into the pharmacy and they had all their Easter stuff and I was like, I need to know. I behind or am not behind? I guess we have St. Patrick's Day first. Oh yeah. It's on a Tuesday. Rough. Lame. It'll be rough and butte on a Tuesday. Darn. Bugger. Do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day? Like what do you do for St. Patrick's Day? Corned beef? Cabbage? because my family won't eat it. So why would I cook it? Nobody in your family will eat it? Like not even you, you know? ⁓ no, I will. I love it, but the rest of them are like... No, well normally you make like corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes. Right. I mean three of my fork-ins don't like potatoes. don't know if any of them would eat the cabbage and yeah Tucker is highly against corned beef. Really? Yeah. They're all like... Dang Tuck. Well, we eat corned beef and cabbage and all this stuff. I know. I came out to your house before because my family won't it. And the dial over drinks screen. Yeah, that's always fun. I mean, everybody's got to wear green. Yeah. I mean, it's way more fun when it's close to the weekend and you can like do something instead of like, I mean, everybody's going to have like probably practice. I know, practice and go home and eat cabbage. And eat cabbage. Megan told me the other day, I can't wait for the leprechaun to come to our house. said, does a leprechaun come to our house? I think I've ever seen a leprechaun ever. Yeah, you can't catch them. They're too fast. Yeah, last week we were talking about this ice trip and I just wanted to report that all ⁓ are out for. Everybody survived. Barely though. was cold out there and they caught one fish. I do they're a too old for the wall tent. didn't even sleep in the wall tent. Yeah, that's what Tucker I was talking to Tucker though I said ⁓ so glad you didn't freeze and he's like yeah, we talking about it and ⁓ we we're getting too old for the wall tent. they've done years where they were like terrible to me. cabin, so why would they revert back to a wall tent? I think they just got to like every few years remember why they don't like it. was like was so cold this year that Shane even packed a coat. you're ice fishing like yeah, I don't probably Yeah So But they all survived so yes ⁓ and boys had fun. Yeah, sounds like they were really into it too cold of course, but yeah, but literally they said my are all of our waters froze even our fish are minnows that I got them at shields I work so hard to get them that whole container froze of fish. They're like, we don't even know how many years still in yeah, they were having trouble drinking their beers because their beers were freezing. They had to drink part of it and then set it by fire and open another one. it like thawed out. Nope. Never going on that trip. Don't invite me ice fishing. I went to the first annual ice fishing trip and that's all. That's it. Said I did it. And it's been how many years now? This year was the 15th. Oh my gosh. So there's that. Dang nuts! Yeah, they've been at it for a while now. Yeah, the first year was me, Tucker, Shane, and Sean Waller. Love it. At Tongue River. That's awesome though, honestly. Like it's a good tradition for them to keep Yeah, mean I think And the boys are into it now and yeah, it's cool. But yeah, mean Tucker was mentioning that starting next year, he doesn't even know if and will be able to like make it. Why's that? Because Riley will be able to play up for high school basketball. And then you never have a free moment ever again in your entire life. So there's that. yeah, that'll be interesting, won't it? I mean 15 years is pretty good run though. I mean that's great and hopefully the other guys can like keep going and maybe Tucker can swing it or something. Because they talked about like switching days even so that like Tucker could go. ⁓ yeah. Like because the only reason why he would stay is if like there was a game he doesn't have to be here for anything else so. Yeah. All those things to look forward to. All those busy, chaotic things. Well, what are we going to talk about next week? What should we talk about? I want more ideas. I want our people to tell us what we should talk about. Suzy, I know you're out there. Yeah, I we know Suzy's listening. Yeah Let us know what should we talk about next week? ideas of topics. Yeah, let's let's hear what you guys are all doing for st. Ooh, so I'm really relying that Rusty dog will have a sure they were on their menu that week and then because I to work all day now st. Patrick's Day Yeah, so then at least for lunch I could go Yeah, I'm so yeah send up some ideas of topics we might need to look into some more guests Know we should get some more guests on.
