Laurie Hang: why most women never feel abundant. My name is Lori Hang and I serve high functioning eldest daughters and sensitive leaders who are successful on the outside but exhausted on the inside. Let's start with a story. So this particular theme of abundance hits so close to home because I used to be just like these women. And I would say it affects the majority of us because we live in a capitalist society and especially here in the USA, I feel like women are expected to look good, work hard, and even be these like perfect mothers to their children. And I think that in this ideal setup, like we still try our best to hit all of those and In my own story, just feel like the outside, I had it all, right? I had the thriving nonprofit. I have an amazing marriage. I had just received my French passport. Like everything was going right. ⁓ inside, I was just like, ⁓ need a break. could just like, I'm like, how am I all about self care? ⁓ I just ⁓ need to drop everything right now. is ⁓ an ⁓ of we can become so attached ⁓ to image we show to people. ⁓ And that's not necessarily It's just that sometimes we just deserve a break. So in this episode, I'm gonna be breaking down the issue of... why this is, like why is it that abundance seems like such a far away goal, such a far away dream. And then I'm going to talk about what real abundance really is and what I've found in my own journey. then I'll connect it to my route to rise method, which has helped me immensely. And this is how I teach my students and clients on how to find abundance for themselves. And lastly, I will tell you a little bit more about my March 22nd, Spring Into Abundance Day Retreat that I am so excited about. So let's dive in. a little bit ⁓ culture. And this ties directly with women never feel abundant. It feels like we're being ⁓ pulled in all these different directions. And it's almost like there are pillars of life, and we are scrambling ⁓ to keep filling them up, ⁓ keep all of them at ⁓ Actually, life was never designed to be that way, right? Like if you really think about how we used to live in tribes, there was always somebody there to be your village. So you would have somebody maybe helping with the food and somebody else helping with the children and you're able to go out there and do the work that you were supposed to do that day. And then everything kind of shifts when the needs change. So I think the hustle culture is really about us not being connected anymore ⁓ what trying to say is that you not meant to hold it all. It was not one person's job, one woman's job at that ⁓ to uphold the perfect image of always looking ⁓ or always being fit. ⁓ It was never also job to ⁓ the head of household and remember ⁓ school appointments or to, you know, even schedule things for you and your partner, right? So what I'm trying to say here is that this hustle culture, I mean, it is 2026, we should just not be doing that anymore, right? We need to be taking better care, ⁓ self care of ourselves. ⁓ once we take better care of ourselves, and we fill our own glass, then we can start to pour from that glass. ⁓ And so it begs the question, why is it that we women never feel abundant? I think this is the best question because it's such a simple answer and it might even be one that you might be like, wow, like I never thought of it like that because for me that was the epiphany that I had. But it was that I wasn't allowing myself. to feel the abundance around me. Like even though I had it all, I was like running a full capacity to keep getting more. So this relates to I am enough. What I have is enough. Like whatever is happening around me, my journey is enough. Like I am supposed to be where I am right now. And don't get me wrong, this doesn't mean that you have to stop what you're doing and just not do anything anymore. not permission to ⁓ doing what you're doing because what you're doing is important. But it ⁓ about raising awareness about, I actually taking time to enjoy the fruits of my labor? To smell the roses on my walk. This one is especially hitting home for me and this is, think, yoga became such a huge part of my life because being on the mat makes me reconnect to myself. It gives me space to feel, to clarify, to refine. So now I wanna talk to you about the five types of wealth. And I'll give you some examples of how they're different and the same and just how it all kind of relates together. So it's hard to distinguish sometimes, but in all of it, it is about finding that feeling of enough in all these areas of life. So the first area of wealth is time. all of us ⁓ have 24 in a day. ⁓ So you the same ⁓ as person around you on this planet. ⁓ And really about what you choose to do in that 24 hours. I would ⁓ the story me here is that I looked ⁓ how stressed I would feel ⁓ I had to wake up early in the morning, and if you have a job, you know it because I know it, and even when I had my contract gigs where ⁓ would get docked ⁓ dollar a minute that I was late, it was really stressful. And it was because ⁓ was no longer ⁓ I ⁓ you to with this because ⁓ That is actually true freedom. That's why I talk about it first because being able to decide what time you wake up and when you're doing whatever you're doing, that is actually the abundance that we're all really craving, right? Like when we want lots of money in our bank account, it's so that we don't have to subject ourselves to a job where have to. ⁓ come back from breaks at a certain time. ⁓ So I want you to think how time is actually the number one thing that a finite resource that we do not get back. And that is actually the most important area to reclaim. Number two is relationships. So we know of those billionaires who when they get all the way up there, they're like, ⁓ I have no friends or my family doesn't want to talk to me because I missed all of their baseball games and all of their important milestones of their lives. So I would say that relationships are second because the longevity of your life depends on the quality of your relationships. You can look it up. It is true. And I, that is why I am such a advocate for community. And I'm so lucky because I feel like this is like probably the most filled part of my areas of wealth. Like I feel like I have such beautiful relationships in my life and That's not something that you can buy and it is something that you cultivate with time. So there it is again, right? Being able to allocate enough resources such as time and energy ⁓ enriching ⁓ relationships that will live with you ⁓ the rest of your life. Like I believe ⁓ you don't have... support system or groups that you feel community with then what is even the point because humans are social creatures and we need each other. Number three, clarity. Mental clarity is more of what you give yourself with proper I would say reflection and fine-tuning of your thought processes and you know, are you constantly learning and growing and being true and authentic to yourself? I feel like ⁓ words of authenticity ⁓ ⁓ authenticity just gets thrown around a lot, I think it's really about, Like, are you operating from a place of. of abundance or lack, right? When you make decisions, are you thinking I should, you know, close this deal with this client because I need the money? Or are you believing, you know what, this client is actually not a good fit and they will actually take time and energy away from me? So I want to say mental clarity and being able to make decisions not from scarcity. is another big one and that really, I mean that's a big one for me and I think yoga also brings me into that because when we practice yoga it's about doing the poses to actually get to the end in final relaxation pose where we can actually be still because Clarity doesn't happen when we are constantly busy. It comes with space. Number four is physical vitality, which also I have to talk about yoga because without this practice, at least for me, it is like the common thread with everything that I do. Like right now I've been loving Pilates ⁓ ⁓ practicing yoga for last years has given me so much body awareness. and I am even adapting, you know, I'm also doing physical therapy for my shoulder and past injuries that I've had. And yoga just like ties it all together. And I, you know, I'm lucky because as a yoga therapist, I'm like my own holistic practitioner. So being able to listen to my body and give it what it needs, like I just feel like that just brings about so much more physical vitality instead of just pushing through at thinking and doing what I feel like I should be doing. Being more intuitive about my body means I'm not relying on a smart watch or any of those other wearable technology to tell me what I already know intuitively. And I would also argue that You can have the money, so many of these billionaires and people who are in the hustle and grind, once they get to the desired bank account number, their health is probably not the best because they've been trading sleep, they've been maybe working so hard and not resting that they have health problems that... by that time are probably chronic. And just like relationships, you really can't buy physical vitality. it is another thing that you have to cultivate time. So the last one is I really believe that ⁓ are the mental clarity ⁓ and taking care of your relationships and you have physical vitality, ⁓ you're utilizing ⁓ finite of time in such a way that just naturally brings you financial alignment. Like we don't ⁓ have be working around the clock ⁓ or trying to hustle and grind and meet every person, we just have to do what our bodies are telling us that it's okay to do. And going back to that hustle culture, it can be so hard to practice restraint because that's what it is. Because given all this technology, and you have a computer in your pocket and you can do all these things. The practice right now of our age is actually restraint. To actually pull back where we want to go and instead cultivate them into something that's more meaningful. And that to me is true abundance. As part of my route to rise method that I teach with clients and that has helped me immensely, being able to regulate your nervous system into an abundance, like mindset and feeling, having this mind body connection where you are abundant and whatever is happening is right where you're supposed to be, is actually part of the route. aspect and In the root to rise framework, reveal, reclaim, remember, and rise. So it does go in that order. So if we're unable to root, the other four levels are gonna be way harder. because the route to rise framework is really about continuing. It's kind of like a ⁓ spiral where we keep moving up. So if we're unable to route fully, we won't be able to rise fully into who we're supposed to be. if you feel like a woman who has difficulty feeling abundance, I just to that you are not alone. ⁓ Like ⁓ I was as well. ⁓ And not only did I create the route to framework ⁓ help myself and my clients to move through it. Now I'm integrating it as part of this Spring Into Abundance Day retreat March 22nd. right there only nine spots and ⁓ would love to have you there ⁓ because during entire day we are going to be abundance. And I always say practice doesn't make perfect, practice makes practice. The more we practice abundance, the more we're able to actually let it become part of us. Because nowadays when we see hustle culture all around and all of the things that we could be doing, it is so hard to practice restraint. So during this day, you're gonna be surrounded by other women who are trying to do the exact same thing. So that's the relationships. We're taking the whole day, this is like six hours of one Sunday to practice together. And it will be such a fun time because I just know when you combine nature, when you reset your nervous system, when you're with other people who just want the exact same thing and are there to root you on. more could you want? ⁓ So you can find me on Instagram. or message me on my website. Everything will be linked down on the show notes. can't wait to see you on March 22nd.
