Lisa Drennon: Financial freedom, what does it mean to you? So many want it, they don't have it because they don't understand what it is. So I'm going to give you a little assignment today I know you all love challenges. Think about what does financial freedom look like to me? ⁓ And I'll give you a hint, it comes from the inside out. today we're gonna be diving deep into this with Victoria Nielsen, who is an intuitive healer, embodiment coach, and Kundalini Yoga Facilitator, who helps women reconnect with their inner wisdom to create lives they don't want to escape. I love that. Through ancient practices made practical, she empowers others to trust their intuition, embrace their truth, and live with bold authenticity. And I love this because many of you know that I've been on this journey to connect with myself, to find my true identity. I think as moms especially, we spend so much time helping others, serving, taking care of, running errands, doing all the side gigs, whatever is on your plate. And we never stop to think and look at ourselves to take me time because we think that's selfish or whatever. And then we lose who we are. lose insight. We don't even pay attention to our intuition. And then we allow others to make decisions for us, especially when it comes to finances and relationships. So go grab something nice to drink, tune everything out and join us for this amazing conversation. Thank you so much, Victoria, for being here. I'm really curious. When we hear intuitive healer, intuitive that word is used a lot, especially like, you know, just listen to yourself. I'm into human design. I'm a generator five one with a sacred authority. And I was shocked in the beginning of this year when I understood what which is how I make decisions. And I'm like, what? ⁓ Victoria Nielsen: Ha! I love that so much by the way, because it can be that personal. think intuition to me is that personal inner relationship, that personal inner experience. So hi guys, I'm Victoria. I'm really excited to be here today because I think there needs to be more conversations around our intuition and our finances, our intuition and our everyday lives because as women, our intuition is our innate superpower. It's something we're born with. and through societal conditioning, through programming that's been kind of projected upon us, through all the things, right, that just happen in life, it can be really hard to listen to that little voice within and to even understand what it sounds like for you. And it's a really intimate and personal experience. So I love that we're gonna get to talk about that today because it does look very different for everyone. And following my intuition is something that I've gotten really good at because I have gotten into a relationship, right, with that inner wisdom, with that inner voice. But for so many, it can feel really foreign the first time that you do it to listen to that inner knowing. And I want to be clear that inner knowing like isn't this ⁓ voice of God, right? A lot of the times it's this little voice that sounds just like you because it is you. and it is your heart and your soul and your spirit wanting to guide you towards something new. So this is gonna be such a fun conversation today. Lisa Drennon: Yeah, absolutely. And I know a lot of women listening out there and I guess you guys, there's some guys too, but we're going to just focus on the mom, divorced mom, fernuers, single moms out there tapping into our intuition when we have so much noise around us. is one practice that has helped you just to shut out that noise and go I mean, even if it's a two second break, ⁓ which a lot of times what you need, I just spent five days with my grandchildren, ages five and three and... Victoria Nielsen: Yes. Lisa Drennon: I wanted to bed at nine o'clock. was exhausted. Victoria Nielsen: That's the age of my two children. a lot, a lot, lot at breath work, honestly, has been the biggest game changer for me. And something I discovered when I became a new mom, ⁓ to realize that at any point I could tune inward to this free thing that I had to increase my life force energy, what a relation that was for me. And to know that ⁓ can use that to calm my body, you know, I had never realized what being overstimulated felt like until I became a mom. And so just taking that second to put a hand on your heart, a hand on your belly and take a deep breath and breathe out, you then give yourself space to say like, what do I need in this moment? ⁓ from that place versus that reactionary place. Motherhood is very reactionary. We're always reacting to things around us. It's natural, right? This energy ⁓ is ⁓ when you're a mom, but you have to guard yourself with that pause and with those boundaries. So the breath to me is something that I return to again and again and can be as simple as just taking one breath or counting to five. You know, it doesn't have to be complicated. I think we think, I have to sit down and meditate for 30 minutes. No, you don't. You can just take three deep breaths and feel better about yourself. Lisa Drennon: Mm-hmm. Yeah. And that's so important. I'm just going to reiterate that because I'm certified aromatherapy practitioner. So we add essential oils to that breath. And, know, in connecting the thought, there's a quick three minute aroma reset that we do in the smell of money where we just activate our wealth codes by simply calming our nervous system, by taking that deep breath in with that scent. And our thoughts are the most powerful tool that we have. know, I was, ⁓ was taking a golf lesson and the instructor was saying like, you're Victoria Nielsen: Thanks. Lisa Drennon: thoughts towards golf and your game and how you're hitting the ball is the most important thing. What you think and what you're focusing on is where your ball determine how well you play the game. And I thought, well, wait a minute, this is what I tell my clients. This is what I tell myself when I'm coaching myself. ⁓ we think, a of people carry debt or they're afraid to invest because... They don't have the knowledge, they don't have the time, they're not really sure if they have the money because they're not paying attention with their money and then that panic starts to kick in. But as soon as the kids ask for something, ⁓ yeah, no, we're going to go get it. Victoria Nielsen: Always, always, right? Like it doesn't even matter. But I love that you bring that up because I do think there is a generational energetic aspect to money and that a lot of the ways we interact with money now comes from how our family did before us. know, growing up, I remember fearing being in debt because it was a storyline that my mother always was, right? And that my father had to bail her out, that she wasn't responsible with money, all of those things. So then that became my fear, right? I don't want to be like that. I always want to be making my own money. I always want to be taking care of myself. And I did, right? I put myself through college. I never had to take on debt. Wonderful to learn that lesson. But then I also started to associate money with being really hard work. And I think that was something that I've had to unravel these last couple of years to realize that no, you can have an easeful life. It doesn't mean everything's easy, right? Lisa Drennon: Mmm. Victoria Nielsen: but that money and your finances and that financial abundance can come more easefully when you're receptive to it versus like reacting and feeling like you have to always be reaching for it if that makes sense. Lisa Drennon: Yeah, and reaching forward, I think is what a lot of the listeners do. And I know I've done that at a time and I always say we don't chase money, we pursue it. Because we always think, I've in the industry for over 30 years and the most common statement I hear is, will there be enough? We're so afraid that our money is going to run out that we either hoard it or we spend it because, you know, money burns a hole in my pocket. But we're afraid that if we don't spend it, Victoria Nielsen: Hmm. Lisa Drennon: then we won't enjoy it. So there's like this tug of war going on with our thoughts when it comes to money and we're stopping money from hanging out with us. Victoria Nielsen: Exactly, because we're kind of like you're trying to date money obviously and who wants to be with that person that's giving out vibes of like, know, ⁓ I like you, I don't like you, I'm not sure. Like that hot cold isn't fun. And it's our responsibility, I think, to get to the root of some of these money stories and just find out if they're true for us. Because then that's going to get rid of the energetic charge that's causing some of the push pull. So you know, one I love to share with my clients is Lisa Drennon: Mm-hmm. Victoria Nielsen: desire, right? You have this desire in your heart to maybe grow a business, to be wealthy, to be expansive, whatever that dream or desire is. It's been planted in your heart for a reason. But what are some of the things that you have taught yourself that that desire has to mean? Again, kind of from your childhood or from the way that you were brought up, you know, for me, it was that ⁓ dad or my family had to move away. his desires for success and for that kind of happiness meant that he had to sacrifice his family. Is that true? No. But as little seven-year-old girl, that's the story that was imprinted in my cells, essentially. And now as an adult, I have to unlearn that, right? Because money is neutral. It's not positive or negative. I think a lot of us have more negative money stories, negative Lisa Drennon: to me. Victoria Nielsen: And it comes back to that lack, right? That there isn't enough because in today's capitalistic society, that's what we're taught. That, ⁓ the pot is only this big and you must all fight for it. When really, when you're actually tapped into like your feminine flow and wealth and creation codes, there's infinite potential for everything. Lisa Drennon: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah, and we were all born to be wealthy. And it's just the choices that we make deter that wealth from us and then we play the blame game. I liked how you used the word imprint because so many things are ingrained in our brain as we're growing up, even before we were born when we were in the womb. know, I think of like we were, ⁓ the eggs are in the mom's womb from when they were born. So literally we were an egg in our little mom's, you know, when she was a little girl. and heard what her grandmother said to her, so our great, great grandmother. And those lessons stuck with us. And for whatever reason, adapt them to our lifestyle. And then we're like, well, I don't know why I'm making this decision. And I know like for those, myself, who have a cycle of debt, for years I was debt free. And then when I hit 40, it was like something snapped inside and I used... zero percent credit cards is an emotional crutch and racked up a hundred thousand dollars worth of debt. And it's like, wait, I know I've been doing this for over 30 years. I know how to manage money. Like what is going on with me? I kept it from my husband who accused me of financial infidelity. And we got into World War III and he's like, I can't believe that you racked up a hundred thousand dollars worth of debt. ⁓ like, I'll pay it off. know, and so there's this... Right. Victoria Nielsen: Yeah, but it wasn't about the money. It wasn't actually about the money, was it? Lisa Drennon: It was this struggle of this emotional void. It was actually like a hole in my heart where I didn't feel worthy or significant or enough. And so I kept trying to fill the void. it's funny because there's seven ⁓ many have a quiz and one of them is grant the giver and my mom was ⁓ loved give. And so like, Victoria Nielsen: too. That's her love language. Lisa Drennon: Yeah. And so I would like, she would receive gifts and that was her way of communicating. So I'd be like, okay, I'd go out. I would love to buy gifts. So, but I was more like, I'm more like sell a spender. Love to buy gifts, love to spend money. Not necessarily in just myself, but like a lot of times I would like adopt kids, you know, like at church or whatever, like for Christmas or whatever. was like, I thought it was just so much fun to fill up a bag full of, you know, whatever was on their list. And then just here, look, I can't wait to see them, like hear about them opening this. This is going to be so much fun. and I got the biggest kick out of it. But when I realized, when I went through my debt and realized what I was spending my money on, I thought I was just like really bad with money. You know, like my mom told me money burned a hole in my pocket, so therefore, and when I looked at my debt closely and I was like, oh, wait a minute, I did really good things with this money. And you know, in the psychology world, as you know, we rack up as much debt as we earn. You can't rack up more debt than what you're capable of earning. And when I went through my journey from the inside out and working with the emotional aspect of my relationship with money, I realized, wait a minute, I don't make $100,000 a year. Like, do I? $100,000 or whatever timeframe, do I make that much money? And so what I did, and for those of you in the US, you can do this too, especially if you are paying your social security tax, you can go to ssa.gov and pull up your earnings and you can see exactly how much you made from day one. And when I added it up, I was like, Wow, over. Yeah, it will. It'll definitely blow your mind. And I thought, wow, ⁓ way more than that. And then when I started looking at that money and dating money, so what realization on your journey did you come to? Because I know you do a lot of this embodiment work. And so tell us a little bit about ⁓ you do to dive in, to pull this apart into how people really see their true identity. And what did you discover about yourself on this journey? Victoria Nielsen: I need to go do that. I feel like it might blow my mind. Absolutely. So I think it all comes back to that inner child, right? So many of us have wounding from that young age that we're carrying with us and that bleeds into our money stories because you hit the nail on the head, Lisa, it's about self-worth and self-love. It's not actually about money. That is just a byproduct of how much you love yourself, right? And so I think the more that I have listened to and worked with that little girl, the more that I've realized that money has been there all along. Lisa Drennon: Thank you. Victoria Nielsen: and that I have always been supported and that the more that I build that self-trust and that safety within, then I can have that self-trust and that safety outside of me as well. And so that starts with my Kundalini yoga. That starts with breath work. And Kundalini is just a very specific subset of yoga where we are working with the subconscious mind. It's the yoga of awareness. So there are specific meditations that you can do for like addiction, for example. because our thoughts are really just addictive thought patterns. And that's the same with money, right? It's just a pattern. And once you notice the pattern, bring awareness to it, you can break that addiction. And I have done that with my clients and with myself utilizing yoga and then somatic release with it, right? Because our bodies are always remembering, they're always keeping the score. You have experienced the emotions and the energy of your grandmother and of your mother. and you may still be carrying that within you. it's more than just the mind, right? And going through maybe some journal prompts or thinking about these stories that you've been told about money, you have to then release that out of the body. So on my money dates with myself, I'll have candle rituals where I'm maybe writing a letter to money ⁓ or an old story about money. then I literally burn it in the candle and dispose of it safely, right, put it outside. ⁓ But use the alchemy of the elements to help transform something. Or I right, the higher power, the B, whatever you want to call it, help guide me, right, what's the next step in this journey. And I find that, you know, we call it shadow work in the spiritual world, but I think it's very similar, right, to the money work that you do, Lisa. Lisa Drennon: Mm-hmm. Victoria Nielsen: because it's making you look underneath and it's making you look at all those different layers so that you can become even more yourself, so that you can become even more in tune with who you are. And I think money is just an extension of that. So the more that I have ritualized money, the more that I have played with money and made it a really joyful thing. Like my money dates really are dates. Like I put on fun music, you know, like I light a candle. I do. Lisa Drennon: Thank you. Victoria Nielsen: that so that I can feel the joy in my body. And every single time I receive a payment from someone, every single time I'm sending money to someone, I literally do a happy dance and like send energy out into the universe because I know it's felt. I know it's felt and the more that I can be in the joy of it, no matter how big or small, I feel like that comes back tenfold. And I think too it's really important to notice like what does your body do when you receive notifications about money? So this one was new for me. Lisa Drennon: Thank you. ⁓ Victoria Nielsen: I got a ⁓ credit card notification, which, I mean, it wasn't that much. I have money to pay it. But I noticed in my body that the second I looked at it, my shoulders hunched. And I went, I was like, okay, there's still work to do here. I'm still holding something in my body that doesn't feel good, that doesn't feel safe. And so really, that's what it is. It's cultivating the safety in the body so that you don't feel like it's gonna get taken away, like the other shoe is gonna drop. ⁓ something bad is going to happen. Because if you're like me, that's the story that was ingrained in you, right? And you have to get it out of the body. Lisa Drennon: Mm-hmm. That's very powerful. love that. I heard the ⁓ somatic So that's like incorporating the breath work with the meditation. Is that correct? ⁓ Victoria Nielsen: Mm-hmm. Yes, yep, and moving the body. And so you're letting your body express in whatever way it wants to. So you may start shaking, right, or you may start vocalizing, but it's letting yourself just do what your body wants and letting it release naturally in that way. Lisa Drennon: Hmm, interesting. heard a little bit about that in the past week or so and I actually signed up for a, I don't know what I signed up for, some kind of a five day, one those called workshops or whatever that talks about the semantic breathing. I was like, ⁓ that seems interesting. What is that about? Because like said, I've been on this journey, this quest in beginning of January of 25 of just like really connecting with the identity. I think it's so true, ⁓ so important ourselves to do that. because tend to make decisions based on what other people tell us. Like external validation is very prominent. We lack self-confidence. And I think this, I the power of breath with a scent is, moves mountains. you can't, I mean, ⁓ that scent into your olfactory system and hits your module and it just ⁓ stirs something you so much. It's so rapid. And it just, the first time I did it, I combined it with a Hopa-Hopana practice and I was like, I was holding onto something, a very hateful thought towards my ex that just, anytime I saw something, would trigger me. Like you said, like your body responds first. And I would get that tightening in my chest and my jaw would just kind of like get really, ⁓ ⁓ like, okay, why am I holding onto this after 30 years of, you this, got to let this resentment go. And I even imagine like doing this somatic work. wow, that is so powerful. And I know, especially for busy moms, entrepreneurs who are solo-preneurs who are trying to do it all, this method would be so helpful in calming them and helping them redirect so that they can tap into their tuition, so that they can start receiving what they desire towards financial freedom, towards clients, whatever. And then the money naturally comes in. But I love how you, one of the practices we have in the Wealth Accelerator is ⁓ Victoria Nielsen: I'm sorry. Lisa Drennon: know, Dear Money letter and I had group do it in the smell of money where they just wrote out like, like I just did a post like, okay, just fill in the blank anytime you come to this post, Dear Money. And one woman had shared something so beautiful and it was so ⁓ It's like, wow, this is really what it's about. And I think once you get that story out in the open, it gives you that automatic relief, but combining it, I always say when you combine all five senses, it's powerful. Victoria Nielsen: Yes, that's when it's like, I mean, like a lightning rod, you know? ⁓ I just love that we're having these conversations because I think even talking about it is alchemy because for the younger generations, like, I mean, I learned, I remember how to balance a checkbook at a pretty young age ⁓ and things like that. But then it was never really about. It was always like, save for your future, save for your future. Lisa Drennon: Yeah, exactly. Hmm. Mm-hmm. Victoria Nielsen: But I feel like when you tap into your money intuitively, it helps you trust, right, that more is coming, that you are gonna have some for your future, but also allows you to take a moment to invest. In yourself, I always like to bring my money into kind of three energies, right? Like, what am I investing in my future with this money? What am I doing with it right now? And then also, what is a past thing that I'm unwinding? Lisa Drennon: Mm-hmm. Victoria Nielsen: And I think as I look at that like past, present, future, it gives me something to always be working on with money, right, because that relationship is ever growing. then I also think it helps me ⁓ that natural kind of up and down cycle of an entrepreneur, right, because I worked in corporate America for a very long time. You know, that paycheck was constant. Every two weeks it was coming. ⁓ so having to ⁓ that in a different way to say, Lisa Drennon: Yeah. Victoria Nielsen: Okay, it's maybe gonna come in a cycle. And now, ⁓ I have to also follow my feminine cycle as a woman. Maybe I don't really want to be working during my period. You know, things like that. That has been a big adjustment. But I think it's also been really empowering. then I'm really in my flow. And I'm also guiding my business from that place. I'm guiding, you know, so many things from that place. Your spirituality is more than just you. Right? Like business is a spiritual game, I think. Your money is a spiritual game, I think. And the more that you're tapped into that, the easier it's going to be to like through those lessons that are going to come up for you around money. Lisa Drennon: Yeah, and it's alignment at the top, it's at the highest level. I like this, it's the Taj Mahal of alignment when we can get into this practice. So I love that. So tell us what's the best way for our audience to connect with you and learn more about your practices and tell us a little bit more like how do do work with people one-to-one, group coaching? Victoria Nielsen: Absolutely. Yeah, so kind of all the things ⁓ one-on-one work with folks, a lot of confidence coaching, ⁓ well ⁓ production. So production for podcasts, website design, anything to really amplify your voice. So if you're looking to amplify your platform, get your message out there, even discover, right, what is your truth and your voice, I'm here to help with that. I also lead women's retreats all over the world. ⁓ So got one spot left at the Art of Unwinding this November. ⁓ we also have retreats into next year. And you can find me at victoriamargo.com. So M-A-R-G-A-U-X. It's Victoria Margo Nielsen on Instagram, but I'm always doing something new. Please check it out. I really love to just express myself and share. So there's always a new group container or program or something going on that you can join. Lisa Drennon: I love that. Multi-passionate ladies. This is love it. She's a mom of young kids, so you can do it all, right? When you think about my purpose, listening to your intuition, tapping in. If you don't know your human design, go get it done and think about How do you respond? How do you make decisions? And what is an align? I know for me, if I'm not feeling satisfied, it is not an alignment. So as soon as I get frustrated, now before I used to ignore this, I got really good at ignoring my feelings. Now I'm paying attention and our body does speak louder than our words. So I've learned just this past year, okay, I'm 57 years old. It's not too late to learn this stuff. That you can tap into your body and be aware, don't matter how busy and crazy you are. I practiced this on my grandchildren this past weekend, so. I know what it's like to be around a five and a three year old and not having a moment to yourself. for those of you who are in position, you can stop and just, wow, how am I feeling? What is my body saying to me? And then take action from there. So if you really want to build true wealth, it starts with you from the inside out. Take that moment, connect with Victoria and see what she offers. If that's in alignment with you, ask yourself, is this a solid yes or no? and then take action because remember it doesn't matter how much money you have it's what you do with it.
